Prof. Heller is perhaps the finest educator I have ever had the privilege of being taught by... I went from writing near incomprehensible sentences to writing grade A work as a result of his dedication in and out of the classroom to my success. Highly recommended!

Mike is one of the nicest, kindest professors I have ever encountered. He truly does care about the students and it shows. He is always available if you need extra help, just get ready to read a lot and submit a lot of assignments. He will give you great feedback and if you really try he will give you the grade you deserve.

Definitely one of my favorite professors, he's extremely kind and soft-spoken but also hilarious where you wouldn't expect him to be. He's super concerned with social justice & always offers to help students get involved with social action in the community. He liked to focus on journaling to help us get to know each other and ourselves better.

I graduated from RC in 2008 and would definitely go back and take a class with Dr. Heller! He's better than some of the professors I have in grad school! Definitely cares about the students! I took GST 101 & 102 with him and would recommend his classes to everyone!

Mike is a great prof, only took the class so that I wouldn't have to wake up at 830, and the grade reflects that. Go to class, read the books, and interact and you'll do fine (so basically do the opposite of what I did).

Mike isn't just a Professor he is an RC experience. No English major should graduate without having taken a class with him. An incredible human being and teacher, although he is quirky. You can easily float by, but if you want to get something out of it you'll have to engage in the class writing and discussions yourself.

I felt like elementary school was more challenging. Don't need to bother reading, he never talks about the books in class. Instead he talks about his many other "announcements.". He's a really nice guy though!

I always enjoyed coming to his class. Granted, one will need to be ready to think and to be challenged, but it's good overall. He also did a good job on helping the class to get to know eachother so one can't feel like an outcast, like in other classes. The small writings are a plus too. it gave me the chance to see some of what my classmates were going through and what they thought and it also gave me a chance to express myself more openly. Good professor overall ^_^

I really liked Mike's class. We became his class not just a class. He has kept up with everybody even kids who left mid term. Yes he is a little unorthadox but the small writtings really let you know everybody. And he is always there for you in a pinch. He will go to bat for you against other teachers if you need his help. He is always very supportive.

Mike Rocked in modern poetry. Gave me the impression of someone on really good psychedelics, trying to feel his way through life. I loved it! Cool creative mind, but he hates negativity in poetry even though its a reflection of life. Who knows, maybe he's scared?

Mike is cheesy and he does get moody but it makes him understand others. He will go out on a limb for you with anyone at RC. Taking him is a good experience and an easy way to get an A. Enjoy his quirkiness and get over yourself. Giving him a poor rating is almost evil. PS Paul Hand. kisses his ass royally. its pathetic

He is so corney sometimes esp with keeping journals. his class material is somewhat cheesy and he pushes quakerism on you. he accepts late papers without penalty, so if you turn it in on time there is no reward. never lets us out on time and never returns our papers. i dont like him, avoid his class
