I felt like his assignments were for students with years of experience, not ones just learning the material. I was very confident in all my hard work until my first assignment and grade with this teacher then I started to dread his assignments and I feel that hindered my learning in this course. I recommend avoiding this teacher if at all possible

Harsh grader, will deduct 1/3 of the points for a given assignment for a single spelling error or slightly incorrect file name. His and Susan's grading rubric certainly not the same. Assignments sometimes lacking in necessary detail, though his feedback is usually decent. I recommend avoiding this instructor.

I created this account to rate this one teacher. I'm a returning student very motivated. I'm pulling a 4.0 average. I study long hard hours. This is the most confused coursework I've ever seen. He uses no text book, choosing his own text. His text is rife with spelling, grammar and syntax errors.

If you find yourself on Mr. Hanna’s bad side it will only result in harsh grading. I do not mind a challenge but expect to be taught something in the process, the only thing I learned was that I will never take another class with this instructor again; He is very abrasive, condescending, and is, certainly not, about student’s future.

Reviews are spot on. Avoid this guy like the plague. I don't mind tough if i'm learning but his style of "guessucation" leaves me wondering what exactly i just paid for?? Really caught up in the minutia. I once wondered why some get so turned off of education? because of guys like this that don't care to teach. Professional w/ degree rethinking PCC

I earned and recieved an A in CIS 120 but I ended up having to drop this class because I was failing. Mr Hanna did take the time to meet with me but made me feel stupid because I missed directions and completed an assignment wrong. Very frustrated.

Assignments are perhaps more suitable for a Data analyst with years of experience, not students trying to learn the material. Asking for help on assignments just results in more points being deducted. Harsh grading. Worst choice I've ever made was ignoring these reviews and taking this class bc I needed science credits.

Taylor, was the wors instructor I have ever had. Ver condesending and was not willing to help or answer questions. You had to be an Engineer to understand any of his explinations. I felt like I was constantly being scolded for my questions. If his name comes up do not take any class with him.

Tough grader; very critical. Alternated sections w/ Sue Norris. I found myself dreading his sections. In spite of A, I spent more time worrying about grade, then focusing on content. He would give feedback in the comments section of assignments, but seemed unapproachable in email or discussion groups. If given a choice, I wouldn't take him again.

Taylor seems extremely experienced and knowledgable, in person he can explain things really well. I really appreciate that he took the time to write out himself all the info we need, no books! His projects were interesting if your interested in C#. But he lagged behind the class, didn't grade everything, didn't participate much online.

This is the worst teacher I have ever seen in an online class. Students stopped posting because he wouldn't reply. The first test was a complete disaster. He changed the homework 3 times in the middle of the week. Homework not clear at all! Material poor in quality plus no book! I know C# and it took me hours to finish the homework.

Agree with most of these comments. He seems to be a nice man, but tough grader and unavailable (I sensed he did not want us to contact him). Was seldom online - he co-taught this online class - the poor other prof had to answer all posts. he may have responded to one or two at most. Skip him if at all possible! Hard to find good CIS professor

I have to agree that this class is garbage. It is riddled with major errors that take hours to figure out, and the instructor refuses to clarify assignments. He reposts all questions on the Peer Q&A board, answering none. Even after we pointed out errors in the materials and the Syllabus, he still has not fixed them. Stay far, far away.

Supposedly an introductory class, Taylor Hannah seems to assume that everyone enrolled in his course is at least intermediately versed in object oriented programming knowledge. His web based PHP course is garbage, refusing to teach anything, leaving the students on their own to decipher his verbose and cryptic assignments. Avoid at all costs.

I don't usually post here but I want to warn everyone not to take Hanna's PHP class. He teaches an on-line version which he completely ignores. He takes weekends off which is reasonable, except that his assignments are all due Sunday night. That way, he doesn't have to respond to student's questions on the Bulletin Boards. The source code is awful!

Instructor did not make it easy to learn Java. Needs to focus on one topic at a time in his lectures instead of introducing too many new things at the same time which made learning very difficult. He also expects you to find answers to your questions on your own instead of waiting to asking him. Least helpful instructor I?ve ever had.

He didn't use a book and his notes are not that great. It is now the 10th week and he has only graded one assignment. He doesn't really update the online website so nobody really knows what is due. The class is completely lost. I can't believe they let someone like this teach. He is a nice guy though.

Comment:
I learned absolutely nothing in the 8 weeks I was in this online class, and finally dropped out so I could re-take it in person with a different professor. PHP is confusing enough without adding in a confusing homework structure and video lectures that don't work.
