Comment:
Professor Riley is a very nice person but not a very good teacher. He is very smart but he does not know how to teach. He does examples on the board the whole class while you copy down, then it's all up to you to really learn how to do them. Exams are hard.

In this class you'll get the grade you work for. But even if you just show up you'll learn. Doesn't really assign homework but gives problems you could work on, slack off and you will fail his exams. He is the best Physics teacher I've ever had by far and all of his stories of physics and his life experiences really bring this class full circle.

dont ever take this class with him because he would never explain anything or where he gets those physics laws from, he expect you to know everything already. and his tests are so difficult to the way that if u get a C then you would be super lucky. he only write a couple of example and leaves the class with explaining anything at all.

check it, physics is all about concepts then DOING examples. he chooses examples that will better explain the concepts, then he does it in class. and guess what, his exams are out of the examples he does in class. understand the examples, do them, and for sure you'll get an A and a solid understanding of physics. best physics professor.

very nice teacher, and smart but his tests are way harder than the lecture examples, you will need to do the homework problems to pass the class with a good grade

The only one good thing about him which makes students pass his class is that his C is from %60-%79. He does not explain concepts. All he does is doing examples in class that is not as hard as the tests. Half of his test questions is from the homework problems that he would not even check if you have them right or not.

He is the worst professor. He does not explain anything in lecture, and only do examples for each chapter, and he does not explain where the equations come from. not recommended. you have to read by yourself to pass the class do not depend on his lectures because they are not that useful.

I like this old sailor. If you suck at algebra and comprehension it will be extremely rough. Mostly read the book to supplement the lecture. Sometimes Prof Riley gets off track. If this annoys you, may not like this. It didn't bother me though. if u suck at algebra don't juggle high level math courses if u can. enjoy the class but may fail. Hard.

Riley doesn't explain concepts at all, he just does examples on the board without even going through or explaining all steps. My friends who took him in previous semesters were surprised at how much more difficult our tests are than theirs were. The lazier he gets throughout semesters, the more difficult tests get. Retire already grandpa! Disgrace!

I loved going to his classes even though they were at 8am. He is really good at explaining the relationship between math and physics. I don't need Physics 210 for my major but I'm taking it anyway. If you want to see Calculus come to life, then take all physics with Riley. We're fortunate to have him at the community college level.

I loved professor Riley's class. He is a very good teacher and he makes the material very interesting, so you never feel that you want to fall asleep during the class period. Keep in mind that you need to do your homework in order to success in this class. Professor Riley is not a miracle worker!!
