This class was easy, but there were a few issues. If you wanted to contact him, good luck. Essay exams didnt even seem like they were actually graded/read. I got all As on everything I turned in and that was shocking. The lectures were boring as he was just rambling off about history. It was an easy A for sure. Hes a nice guy.

Super easy class therefore you should pass no problem. One thing that was awful was his unpredictable grading. He had no set grading rubric therefore you may have to specifically ask why points were taken off. Class is super boring because he talks about the same thing over and over again, but he sends all the notes before class so no note taking.

Most boring class I have ever taken. Spends the entire class spouting of whatever nonsense that comes to his mind with no references to any sources making his trustworthiness extremely low. I can handle boredom but he provides no instruction on papers and no advance warning for quizzes and tests. Just awful.

Maybe years ago was a good professor, but now just rambles on all class jumping randomly from one topic to he next making note taking impossible. It is also clear to see that he does not read the test essay's that we do.

Dr. Malmude was a great professor! He keeps the lectures interesting by adding modern terms into the historical aspects to the class. He is a fairly easy grader and doesn't always stick to a deadline

Malmude will bore you to tears in western civ, but it's overall very worth it because he is by far the easiest professor you will ever have in college! All tests are open notebook/open laptop and he hands out 100's on exams very commonly!

Not a bad guy. The course is super easy, kind of a joke. We never used the text book. His lectures tend to be boring, but they are really informative. If he calls you out on something like texting, don't argue with him- he gets pretty worked up about it. Also, answer his questions in class when he asks them.

Dr. Malmude is a brilliant guy. He grew up in NYC and boy, he is tough and cool and smart. Whenever i needed extra help, I went to his office and he always answered my questions. He is super smart and super creative. Everything in his lectures are straight out of his head...and his crazy corny jokes are awesomely funny. Sign up just for the JOKES!!
