Comment:
Seth is a wonderful professor and well-respected across campus - definitely one of the nicest professors I've had here. I found the lectures were too info heavy and hard to understand at most times so I feel as though I didn't retain much information. He was pretty laidback with deadlines/grading and the lab portion of class was fun to experience.

Comment:
Dr. Tyler is well respected among his colleagues and is very knowledgeable. He is always willing to help and, generally, willing to extend deadlines (sometimes very far) if you are having difficulties with the material. Amazing professor, slightly unclear lectures though.

Excellent professor! You can tell he's really passionate about the material he teaches. Class can be a little hard to follow if you never look at the textbook. So long as you keep up to date on the material, you'll do fine. Labs are very fun because you can look at any specimens available that you want. It's very free form and interesting.

I have him for invert. He's a great teacher but you have to want to participate in the class discussion and do the questions in order to keep up with lecture or it just seems pointless. Lab is really fun and free format, look at what you want and do what you want as long as you are thorough. I'd take another class with him again any day!

I haven't had Dr. Tyler for a teacher yet. I have him for an advisor and had a "class" with him on the schoodic trip. He's really interesting and always helpful and you can tell he thoroughly enjoys teaching and advising. As an advisor he understands what the student wants and hes easy to talk to.

sometimes repeats pictures from slides with his own drawings, but knows his stuff. Few clicker questions unlike Dastoor. Haven't talked to him but he seems to know his stuff

I really wasn't interested at all in invertebrates before taking the class, but it was actually more interesting than I expected. The prof. really knows what he's talking about, but there is sooo much information that it's hard to study for exams. Lab sucks, it's soo long and you have to draw reallly detailed pics. The TA graded really hard.

There's a trend in the other ratings: it seems like everyone's okay with him except the Bio 200 students. I hold to that. Dry, boring, draws stupid pictures with illegible handwriting, and doesn't have much enthusiasm.
