I had Dr. Leimer in a completely online class. Bad idea. Zoom is not an effective teaching tool for this man. Lectures were painfully boring and difficult to stay engaged too. Your grade in the class comes from your 3 Exams and your lab grade. Failed all 3 tests. Got a 95 for the lab. Somehow made a B. Most stressful science class I've ever taken.

AVOID THIS CLASS. Leimer is awful. The content is boring. Insane amount of terms you have to memorize. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in my online class is failing. The best part is you'll study for an exam and feel good about it, only to take the exam and see that the questions have nothing to do with anything and you're screwed. Truly awful.

I was a 4.0 student before this class and that is not to brag. I took this class as a prerequisite and it is the most difficult class I've ever taken. The professor wont post answers to old tests to help study, and the content is impossible to memorize. Everyone around me is realistically failing but the grading scale is extended to pass with a 43%

Dr. Leimer is terrible. He is uninteresting and takes teaching geology way too seriously. The level of material he expects you to know is ridiculous. He is also not understanding at all. I had COVID and was extremely sick right before an exam and though I reached out to him five days in advance, he told me to email him day of and he would decide.

I'm a Comp Sci major and took this class because I needed to fill a hole and oh boy was that a mistake. You probably think, "Oh it's a rock class, that sounds like an easy A!". But holy god it is so hard. Leimer can't teach for crap and this class has so many different terms that your head will spin. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNLESS IT'S REQUIRED!!!

Super awesome professor! He really knows what he's talking about and you can tell he's passionate about it. The tests are pretty hard, but he curves really well. Take notes on everything, and do try to participate when he asks questions. If you try, he notices and he is almost always available before/after class to offer help or further explanation

I really like this man personally. He's a good grandfather figure but that's as good as he gets. He is very kind and nice but when it comes to teaching something isn't right. He rambles off on tangents and does not teach what is on the test. I only did decent since he puts random non-geo stuff on his tests that most people do not know.

Great teacher. Class was extremely hard but it was never because he was incompetent, it's more so the amount of content and the pace he sets. Make sure you form a good study group. Also, do not take 1070 if you're looking for a natural science credit. It's education.

This class was very hard. You had to pay attention in every class period to understand what is going on. Students should study very hard if you want to get at least a decent grade. He does provide opportunities for extra credit so it would be helpful to do the extra credit to get a better grade.

If you go to class and get there on time he will like you and "help" you how he can, the book is crazy expensive and I don't think i ever touched it. when you get there you have about 2 minutes to compose yourself and hes asking off the wall questions for extra credit. I would change my major before I took this class again!! think before taking it.

Taking any class with Dr. Leimer you will have to realize pretty quick that if you don't learn and memorize everything that he emphasized the most during class and maybe when talking to him after class. Sometimes paying attention to the small things you will lose the big picture of what he actually wants you to learn. Dr. Leimer is also the man.

I love geology and most sciences, but this professor was brutal. he was funny at times and interesting but most of the people in class get 40s and lower on the exam. His notes are extremely unorganized. there are too many websites he wants you to get them. TURN OFF YOUR PHONE any type of technology in his classroom will cost you a letter grade.

This is the hardest class you will take in your life! He expects way too much, especially considering that most people in his class are not really that interested in Geology to begin with. The lab is easier than the lecture, but you have to work your butt off just to keep up. Unless this class is necessary, DO NOT TAKE IT.

BEST TEACHER EVER! He is so funny and interesting! It makes me so mad when people complain about how hard and mean he is, when it's those same people who DO NOT study. You're in college now, it's not suppose to be easy! I received an A in this class because I STUDIED. However, DO NOT expect an A or even a B if you don't study! I love Dr. Leimer!

Best teacher I have ever had. The class is hard, but if you work at it, it's worth it. He's very helpful, and you learn a lot. People don't like him, but it's because they're afraid of hard work.

This class is hard but if you work hard/study you'll be fine. I made an A in the class so they're possible. You have to put your mind to it and study. He is funny, can make you feel stupid and you'll be connfused at times. The rocks on midterm are just like the ones in the lab. People say they're different, but it is just because they didn't study.

He is the hardest/worst teacher I have ever had! His class is impossible. Tests/Lab quizzes are also impossible. I went to every class and lab, took notes, and studied my butt just to fail. I would reccommend taking it during the summer at a community college because Dr. Leimer makes you feel so stupid.

Dr. Leimer is helpful when he wants to be. He does a seating chart...if assignments are not done perfectly expect a 0. (Seriously) His tests are impossible and he likes to make students feel stupid. He has a sense of humor. I want to earn my grade, but he is ridiculous. When the whole class is confused, its time to re-think your teaching methods.

Dr Leimer is a very good teacher. However, if you do not study study study his lectures you will fail! I honestly loved the class though! He is a very funny man and if you answer questions during class he will like you. You have to enter this class with a good mind set and good study habits and you will do fine!
