This is the most terrible professor I have yet to have! He is very confusing and grades incredibly hard. He has no sympathy/compassion. I ended up having to withdraw to avoid an F.

Lectures weren't interesting. Got off track a lot. Although his grading was clear and he gave good feedback, it didn't seem to help most of us. We read the book a lot so you must get it because you need to cite from the book in papers. He is a tough grader. Prepare to be bored if you plan to not participate. But if you do, I'm sure you'll enjoy

So unhelpful with questions you have about anything, I tried going to him for clarification but it made me more confused. He wrote his own textbook, and it is SO unhelpful. He is very rude and really disrespectful towards students, 10/10 regret taking this class with him.

This guy... hm. Where to start? He considers the views of others as diseases capable of 'infecting' him. His "feedback" consists of writing "WRONG!!!!" on your homework without even indicating your mistake. The textbook HE WROTE is full of logical errors, which he will correct you on if you use them in your homework. Just... don't take this class.

Bielecki is one of the best professors I've ever had. I took his class for Philosophy of Education in Fall 2014 and it was amazing. It is true that he has very high expectations. Don't take his class if you want something easy. But if you truly want to learn and are willing to put in the work, the return on investment is priceless.

You can only get his book from him. You must do it his way or its the highway. thinks most other teachers dont know how to teach, he is determined he can unteach or reteach you everything you should have learned. don't debate him he is not open to other views, this is a Philosphy class but you must see it his way. Grading is Very Strict! DONT TAKE!

Where do I even start? Okay, his lectures can be very confusing and when you try asking questions, he doesn't give you a direct answer. His assignments are incredibly hard and confusing. He'll disregard any opinions other than his own and believes that his answer is the ONLY answer. Believe me when I say this...DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. DON'T DO IT.

Take this as a warning. Avoid this guy for Phil 1000. He is a horrible professor. No matter how much I read ahead, and asked him questions it still did not help me at all. His style of teaching is horrible. He goes off on tangents A LOT. Sometimes he just doesn't make sense at all. Take my advice and drop this class if you have this guy.

Very short reading and very short writing assignments but you really have to focus when you do the assignments. In other words, you have to pay attention to what is being asked of you and learn to follow instructions. you don't loose points for disagreeing with him or anyone in the reader which happens to be the only required text.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! The very first day of class half of them walked out and dropped. I am an A student and every assignment I turned in received an F. There is no extra credit offered. He is very rude and is bias against biology majors. He will call you out in class and call your statements examples of stupidity. I repeat DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

Incomprehensible reading material, has a terrible teaching style (because he has none), and really condescending/close minded and probably not a very nice guy :( Overall grade: F-

I had him for intro to logic, started with 35 students in the class and all but 7 of us dropped it. He's very wise and teaches based on logic and reason. I learned a lot in that class, I feel smarter overall. This class is not for dummies or people that want to memorize and regurgitate information, it's difficult, you have to use your brain.

Very condescending. Feels he is superior to just about everyone. That would be fine but he grades with extremely high standards. Every paper I wrote received an F and I have never earned a grade lower than an A in English.

He was a HORRIBLE TEACHER!!! I had him a yr ago 4 Contemp Phil. He graded my papers w/o reading it all, after I confronted him about the questions he posed and how the answers were in the paper, he said he'd adjust the grade. HE NEVER DID! By not adjusting my grades I had to retake the class. DO NOT TAKE HIM for GE or a grade!!

Relatively unpleasant and condescending teacher. In the class room, he's a very challenging and hostile person, but, one on one, he's pretty helpful (contrary to common belief). Philosophy majors will likely enjoy his class but if you're a non-major, I highly recommend completing your GE requirement with another class (or teacher).

If you're the kind of student that wants to skate through school without having to actually think or learn you will fail this class. If you can appreciate a challenge and truly enjoy learning this class can literally change your life (in a good way). Best professor I have ever had.

Similar to last comment. As a professor of the education system he does not fit what is the expected standard. Took his class and tried to drop it when I realized the difficulty level but it was too late to do a clean drop. I stuck through it and it changed the way I see life. I'm definitely taking him again even though I'm not a phil major.

BA/honors in Phil from CSUEB. If you are a philosophy *student* skip him. If you are a *philosopher*, take every class of his you can. Get to know him. Argue with him. Meet him 100% on his terms (there is no other way). If you're not a phil major AVOID or take pass/fail. I loooove the guy, and he changed my world permanently.

Comment:
The instructor managed to suck the fun out of what should have been an entertaining class. He appears to be biased against science majors and for philosophy majors. He is not specific about what he wants and grades harshly. I would not take another course with him and strongly advise others considering it to think again.
