Lots of people are saying she's bad, but she's not as bad as everyone is saying, so don't be afraid if you're thinking of taking one of her classes. As long as you turn things in on time (which unfortunately is 4pm on Thursdays, at least for this class it was) you'll do fine! Be ready to read though, because she assigns a lot of it.

All semester Ive gotten full credit on assignments with the same feedback, good commentary. Then I took my midterm in mid October (which I was confident in) and I barely got my grade (D) with no feedback! I cant even change my grade to c/cr because its too late in the semester. Dont take her, shes too hard and is not helpful.

So rude.I had technical difficulties turning in the first assignment on blackboard and emailed it to her to cover my bases. She responded learn how to post to blackboard or drop.I figured it out but told her I didnt appreciate her shortness and she responded with a backhanded apology and condescending words so I dropped and contacted the school.

Prof. Lynch is not clear with her instructions for papers, and often gives confusing and unhelpful feedback. She asks outlandish questions based on the readings, nothing is clear or to the point. When she grades your work, she tells you all the stuff you do wrong, and doesn't offer suggestions on how to fix it or make it better. Quite disappointing

She does not tell you what she's looking for in assignments and if you don't inherently know, you're getting shamed on a public forum. Everything was due at 4pm on Thurs. If you don't agree with her opinion, you are wrong. She's got some good ideas but she'd really benefit from listening to her students.

Basically is really condescending when writing feedback and likes to give half credit for papers you spend a lot of time doing; even being strict on word count. Hoping I will pass because she grades WAY too hard.

I wish I would have read these reviews. I am currently taking an online class with this professor and it seems as if she is only considering HER availability. I wish it wasn't too late to drop, this teacher doesn't consider that you might have a JOB or OTHER CLASSES or a LIFE! Why are things due at 4pm??

Dr. Eve Lynch is a kind teacher but she does expect you to do the reading and there is a lot of it. Because I am a slow reader it made the homework very time consuming. But I also found the class to be very interesting and I feel like I walked away knowing a lot more. In class can be very interesting or slow. It depends if the students are talking

I took her poetry class and the only thing that was unpleasant was that she was not clear in what was required in the essays. 3 essays and one final essay. You will be doing workshops. She wants class discussion, if not she'll make you write.

This is the first time I'm taking Lynch and she is not a great teacher. I think she might have to go back to school and relearn how to teach and change her teaching styles. She is extremely opinionated and if you do not agree with her, she will fail you.

If you don't think like her, don't bother. The first grade you get on an essay will be your final grade, because she pretty much grades from there and forms her opinion on your work from that. She does not give clear direction about what exactly she is looking for, but she she wants nothing original. I don't know why she just doesn't retire.

Great teacher! She is very knowledgeable about background information pertaining to the periods in which you are reading- this helps you a ton on your written exams so take notes about what she says during discussion. She will definitely push you to write at your best, but she is very encouraging.

She's very committed to her topics and a wealth of information. A ton of reading so if you are not ready to read, don't waste the professors time. Discussions are lively and engaging. Grading a little hard to fathom and based on short quizzes and one essay.

Do not take her, she is rude and absolutely bombards with 5 novels a quarter! (Dare to speak she will hate you) If you have other classes and a job, don't take her, though I would advise all others not to take her either. If you want someone respectful and a life, try DBG or Doyle. If you plan on her class, it will be ALL your life, I WARN YOU!

Do not take her! Bombards with reading, so if you're a slow reader, especially do not take her. She assigns so much reading you cannot even absorb it all! How do you learn? How do you take the quiz or write a paper? She is also a master of poking fun at anyone who is not like her. Save time, drama, and your life-take someone else!!!

Spare yourself-DO NOT take her unless you want to feel stupid and humiliated. She assigns way too much reading that takes over your life! If you have other classes and a job, do not even consider this class and definitely not with her. She is rude and disrespectful and if you dare to complain, she makes fun of you in front of the whole class.

Sitting in front of a class, and talking for two hours, is not engaging. She doesn't need to jump around, but I'm struggling to stay awake. Furthermore, her essay criteria is a joke and if you offer your opinion on analyzing a piece, during discussions, she'll shoot down your opinion and make you feel stupid because of that. Not a great teacher.

She really loves talking about poetry. Unfortunately, much of what is discussed in class is not applicable to the essay assignments. She also scheduled all her essays after the drop date, so if you get a bad grade, you're stuck with it.

Professor Lynch is a great professor. She really knows her stuff and is very passionate about it. She is very no-nonesense and doesn't put up with people who don't do the work. If you're looking for a teacher who will let you slide by doing the absolute minimum, then Lynch probably isn't for you. I love Lynch's classes.
