He's not a bad prof, but his lectures didn't help me much. I personally read the book on my own instead of listening to his lectures. Has approx 3-5 small hw due per week, & 4 big tax assignments. Exam questions were really random & sometimes had nothing to do with what we learned. He did organize the exam in chapter order, which helped.

The worst prof ever. He lectures without using notes or powerpoints so he basically just talks at you for the entire class. He acts as if the class is not participating when nobody has any idea what is going on. The only way to learn in reading the book. The only reason I would take his class agian is becasue he curves the exams so much.

This man is actually the worst professor I have ever had. He does not cover any relatable topic material in class and will instead ramble about other accounting things that we dont need to know or care about. He purposely curves enormously in order to compensate for his lack of ability to teach. Dont take unless you want to hate accounting always

Everything was fine until he gave most of the class a 92% as their final grades which according to his grading scale is a B+. Good luck getting an A in this class, it was easy but if you want the grade you deserve take someone else.

This was a summer class, it was accelerated and heavily relied on Connect online quizzes. When answering questions he overexplains everything. A simple yes or no is replaced with a review of the whole chapter and never really giving an answer. He's too smart to be teaching ACC2100 IMHO. Treat this class like independent study, with in-class review.

The class started out with 20 people and dwindled down to 12 in 2 weeks. Steer clear of this prof. Straight up failed the exam and knew the material very well. He acknowledges that his tests are difficult but doesnt do anything to help (no review or study guide). He barely does examples from the book or homework in class.

I didn't mind his long lectures, however, I felt there was a disconnect between the lectures and the Connect online homework. I found myself having to re-affirm the concepts for myself because of that. His in-class examples were hard to follow as well. If you are a hard-worker, you will do fine.

He takes 2 hours to describe what should take 2 minute. He floods you with too much information, rather than reinforcing the basics needed to succeed. He also seems to hate to use actual examples with real numbers, rather he goes on rants about these complex ideas for what should have been a simple accounting class.

Did not enjoy this professor at all. He doesn't know how to teach a lower level class, you have to teach yourself the entire course. His exams are very hard and thorough and about material never taught. However, he curves the exams a ton and makes the class passable.

Accounting is/never was my forte, but I managed to pass. I will say this:he's very smart and can go in-depth for any question you have. Class will feel like centuries if you have him for longer than an hour, but if you want a knowledgeable professor, pick him. Don't slack. Ask for help as soon as you need it. Super super nice guy, but tough class.

Honestly the best class I've ever taken in my life and probably will ever have taken. Professor Callaghan was hands down always there for me when I needed help because Accounting was tough for me. He made it fun and exciting and explained everything in detail. If you can sign up for his class, you will never regret it and you will be really pleased

Callahan was the best professor I had for my master's capstone class. He is the reason I am looking into pursuing my doctorate in Accounting. He doesn't just give you an answer, he explains why that answer is important.

Callaghan was a good prof. He knows his stuff and is willing to help out. I must say I was really lazy when it came to attending class or staying for the whole period (spring) but he grades on HUGE curves and only and idiot could fail his class!

He is a good professor, DO your HOMEWORK and you'll be OK. I failed the same course with Suminski but got a 3.2 with him and finally understood the material.

Callaghan is brilliant. His lectures are very dense with information and even though I got straight A's in my undergrad program, I sometimes have trouble keeping up with him. Lectures are very long but he is a very animated speaker. Gives full credit as longs as you turn assignments in. Grade is very heavily weighted to the research project.

Ok, I am a finance major, and only had to take the class because it was required. He thinks that everyone should be accountants. He is the worst professor and takes like 30 minutes to answer a simple question. The only good thing about him is he has a huge curve, probably to make himself look better. Avoid him at all costs.
