This class was the easiest I have taken so far, but also one of the most interesting. This professor is very easy to access since it is an online class. There are three exams and almost all of them can be found online. I will be taking all the other online classes taught by him as they are all set up the same way, just graded on three exams.

I took this class online, but it was the easiest class I've ever taken. The entire course is graded by three online tests and 95% of the answers can be found by simply googling the question. He gives you tons of online resources, videos of him lecturing, and there is even a book that goes along with his class. I didnt use any of these and got an A-

Both classes graded on three online exams, all multiple choice. Do the reading if you are really interested in learning--the books are, mostly, worth reading. Lectures are SUPER dry. All around pretty average prof--not awful but overly impressive either.

If you are looking for a boost to the ol'GPA then take World Religions. The video lectures are long and will probably put you to sleep but the videos not of him are pretty good and honestly you can get an A just by watching those.

I've never hated listening to online lectures as much as with Munson, his monotone voice and jargon makes it incredibly difficult to pay attention or actually learn anything.

I have taken a multiple courses Munson. The information in video lectures is useful and he knows much about the subjects he teaches, but he does sound monotone and boring. The tests are easy. I would not recommend taking any of the writing courses with him though, he is not open to different writing styles and does not offer help with writing

Stay away! The guy is so far up his ivory tower it is a wonder he has any oxygen to breathe. If you do not agree with his point of view, you fail. If you do not write in the "style"he deems to be correct, you fail. He does not teach, he merely reads quotes from the required reading in a monotone voice.

I imagine he would be very dry as a regular professor, but I took his class online which wasn't so bad. As long as you keep up with the readings it's a pretty easy class as the tests are based entirely on them. Unfortunately the only grades in the class are the three tests, so if you aren't a strong test taker, I wouldn't recommend the class.

It seems like a lot of information at first, but this class format is very accomodating and passable. It really helped me fill up on credits over the summer when I had to work full time and I still got out of it with reasonable grades. Professor very prompt in responding to emails! Highly recommended for Anthro majors.

I took the class online and was shocked at how long his lectures were! He's a wealth of knowledge, but his lectures can be very boring. Make sure you listen to the lectures and take notes or you won't be prepared for the tests!

Henry Munson is an interesting man himself. As a professor, he is a very harsh grader and obsessed with grammar. His assignments seemed straightforward but were maddening and classes tended to be dry and entirely directed by him. When I met with him about homework he was very short and passive with me.

Professor Munson is the best teacher at the entire University of Maine, if you are actually trying to do well in your courses and not just trying to pass by then you will gain so much from his knowledge. He is the gem of the University of Maine. He is efficient and organized, doesn't get much better than him.

I LOVED Professor Munson, I learned more from him than from any other professor in my whole life and no one should ever say he is a horrible teacher, that only reflects poorly on you. He graduated from Columbia University, that's where Barack Obama got his bachelors degree. Trust me when I say you are lucky to ever take a class with Prof. Munson.

Professor Munson is the BEST professor I have ever had and anyone who claims he cannot teach probably just didn't try hard enough in the course or didn't pay attention to his lectures. He is one of the smartest professors I've ever known and I admire his vast wealth of knowledge on issues of world religion and the situation in the middle east.

Like most professors at UMaine he can NOT teach well, he is very disorganized, rambles on and on, he really needs to work on an outline and stick to it and quit trailing off. Someone asked him how crucifiction works and he didnt know the answer and this was a religions course. His video lectures are sometimes 3 hours long due to rambling off topic.

He is a horrible professor... I went to him numerous times for help and all he would say was "use spell check" or "I don't remember your paper, but try going to the writing center." I worked my ass off in the class and even had other professors help me with my papers (as well as going to the writing center) and I still couldn't get above a C...

He really knows his stuff but is an inefficient lecturer. It takes him 30 minutes what could have easily been said in 10 minutes w/o leaving anything out. So instead of a 60 minute lecture you have a 3 hour lecture. Other than that just take notes, do your reading and you should be fine. He's a very knowledgable instructor just not very efficient.

Very smart and obviously knows his material. I feel like he grades in accordance to individual student's abilities. Big on grammar when it comes to essays. He appreciated it when people spoke up in class but did not expect everyone to. Overall a great professor.
