Love love love Jessica Miller! Would take any class she teaches, makes funny pop culture jokes in class, entertaining slide shows, super helpful, posts all slide lectures too! Answers any questions you have, encourages participation, loves open discussions, only had like 3 tests all semester, quizzes but only count for participation, super nice!

Jessica Miller was one of my favorite professors. I didn't know anything about philosophy, and after her class I had a whole new perspective on life. She's funny, has interesting classes, and ensures good conversation. Show up to class, as sometimes she has in class work that counts toward your grade. Tests aren't bad if you're present in class.

Was probably the worst Professor I had at UMaine, mainly due to her constant liberal theology being spewed to the class. Constantly promoting Obamacare, promoting ABORTION (infant murder) constantly and promoting pharmaceuticals

What an absolutely outstanding professor. I've absorbed more from her lectures than any other professor. She is wonderful at applying ideas to concepts people can easily understand, and then allows you to grow from their in critical reflection. I adore her and I recommend her for any Philosophy class should she be teaching one. Choose Jessica!

She's so funny--mainly because she's kind of quirky. The class was always interesting and fairly easy. Also, there's no required text and you don't even need to read the assigned materials. Just show up and pay attention and you're going to easily pass. The topics she covers are usually interesting as well.

It's a very easy class. You don't have to really take notes or even show up, since all of what she says is word for word on the slides. Sometimes it's beneficial to go to class because of pop "quizzes". Tests are extremely easy. She's nice, is pretty smart, but still says stupid things. Take the class for an easy A

The one gen ed i actually wanted to go to. She really loves class discussion and she teaches the material well and always wants to know everyone's opinion. there are 3 tests with no final and case discussion worksheets. All reflect the course really well and there are never any surprises. She loves when you send her something she hasn't seen.

She is a bit strict on rules, being late etc. But its all in good thought. SHe wants everyone to talk and enjoy coming to class. She really like hearing examples and talking out everything. She makes learning the topics fun and interesting.

This has to be the most interesting lecture I have ever taken at the University hands down. I was always eager to come to class and learn more about the issues being discussed and the creative approach this professor uses makes it even more interesting. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs an ethics requirement.

The class is easy. She posts all the power-points on first class so you don't even have to attend lecture; however, you should because discussions are interesting. I don't agree that she "dumbs" down information - her teaching styles are just a little more creative than the average boring Ethics Professor. She's quite funny, too!

I didn't like her. In an effort to frame everything in a pop-culture context she ends up dumbing down the material. It seems like she's passionate about what she's teaching, but frankly, she came across as unintelligent and uninspiring.

Miller is organized, and does a great job in keeping everyone interested and engaged in class. The reading consisted of different documents and reading from the text, but it's not all necesary as long as you make it to class; which I would recommend because you gain useful information and it's totally worth your time! The grading is fair as well. T

This class was great! It has really sparked my interest in Philosophy! She is clear in what she expects, so if you just follow the syllabus, you're going to get your A. Reading the material, essay exams and group discussions are pretty much the extent of the work, but it was very interesting all the while. Recommended!

Very good class she can even help you develop an interest in philosophy which I found boring before her class. Her expectations are high and she does not bend the rules for any circumstance but offers any outside help you might need. Great Class and not hard as long as you take decent notes and don't skip class.
