One of your average professors. Decent quality. You will do a lot of work in his class and work for your grade. Can be unclear at times and expects his students to do a lot on their own, but overall he's alright. Take him if you're up for a "challenging" course, avoid if you want an "easy" liberal studies course.

Horrible professor. Barely teaches at all. Instructs for about the first month, then makes his students teach the rest of the topics to eachother. Unclear, inconsistent, difficult. Tests are hard. You WILL WORK For your grade.

Calhoun is actually an excellent professor if you're looking to get your 'money's worth' out of college. You WILL do work in his class and you WILL be forced to learn if you want to pass the class. If you're looking for an easy A, keep looking. His class is hard and he expects you to work. Tests are hard, but if you show you're trying, you'll pass.

The "coach" as he refered to himself was unhelpful in teaching ethical issues. He spent the semester trying to fix our previous educational flaws as he saw them. His grading system was also very unclear and the "optional" weekly mini essays turned out to work against you if you did not do them every time. Does not give A's on tests or papers

I went to class every day, studies for every test, and was interested in the subject- I got the only C from Calhoun. He expects grad school level performance. On top of the fact that his class is hard, he is SO into himself its unbearable. Youll sit and listen to how highly he thinks of himself before he'll discuss an actual question. Take McAnulty

I liked this guy. A lot of people in my class didn't but that was because they thought they were right and he was wrong. Very funny guy and makes the learning pretty interesting. He wants you to argue your point, he'll argue with you but only to get you thinking.

Professor Calhoun is not the easiest I have ever had but he is one of the most interesting and funny. He has a way of teaching you and you don't even realize you have been taught. His test are not nearly as hard as he wants you to think they are, but studying does help. He's not kidding when he tells you to read the book. You will fail if you don't

Dr. Calhoun is Definitely the best Prof I've had. Had him for a bunch of classes and can see where some would find him hard, but as long as you read at least some of what he's assigned, because he uses lots of stuff from the text he didn't lecture on, you'll pull off @ least a B. if you have no sense of humor consider taking someone else.

This professor is hard! He starts off lecturing the class about study habits and makes everyone feel like we just graduated H.S. . His tests this semster was multiple choice but it was still really hard. Half the stuff on the test he never lectured on and some things were not even in the book. I would not take his class ever again.

I had Dr. Calhoun for several classes and I really liked all of them. Students were a little tough on him even then (1999-2002), but I think it's his quirky sense of humor that people have a problem with not his teaching style. I enjoyed his classes...and

Read the coursepack, it covers a ton of material and he will not cover it in class. The majority of the exams will come from the coursepack. Take class though, he takes roll. Expect to participate in a debate. Exams are open ended questions and partially essay. He grades tough. Expect to earn your grade with Calhoun.

Expect LOTS of reading. The required reading is typically not part of the lectures but will be part of the exams. These are not multiple choice. Assigns a group project as well. He enjoys challenging the class and although you may find him frustrating he seems to appreciate participation.

A brilliant and entertaining man, but one horrible teacher. Seems to teach the course to brag about himself to a captive audience. Has unrealistic expectations of students, and gives essay exams exclusively, grading them unimaginably strictly. As stated above, he believes that he is infallible.

Very fun class to go to.. Discussion everyday in class.. No homework.. But his tests are ridiculous. He grades like a graduate teacher. Come on, this is ethics. Not Master's Thesis. Nice guy but he seems to think he is always right on controversial topics.
