I found Professor Rothwell to be quirky and charming. She doesn't grade harshly. Instead, she tries to help strengthen your writing and literary skills. Some assignments may not seem relevant to you, but in the end, it's worthwhile just to take UWRT with her. WARNING: The Final Portfolio assignment is a little confusing, so beware.

Be prepared to have 4-6 short essays and writing projects due during the last few weeks off class. She will not assign these until the last second. If you already are pressing for time to do work in other classes then I don't recommend this professor. Her essays are confusing and the grading is very strict. No tests but there are a lot of papers.

Not really a fan of her. Her assignments feel made up on the spot and she is very very unclear about requirements. Also not very good with technology, especially moodle and google docs. She is cares about student's success, go see her during her office hours. All work is uploaded to moodle so attendance doesn't seem mandatory.

Professor Rothwell is such a wonderful person! She really cares about what you want to write and how you write. Attendance does not seem to be mandatory, but suggested. Actually attempt to write well and participate and you will pass.

My favorite thing about her was that she was friendly and willing to work with people. However, me and my classmates sometimes found that were confused about when assignments were due or if they were even due at all. The class isn't difficult and a solid A or B is easily possible

Connie is amazing. She is so interested in her students and what we like to write. She isn't too strict on her deadlines and changes it if people are confused or need more time. Always open to questions and advise you may just need to clarify the assignment for next class. I strongly suggest taking her, favorite English class i've ever taken.

I'm taking the honors class and so far I love it! Connie is a great person and teacher. Grades don't come first for her - she's much more interested in her students than the papers they churn out. The only downside is that she's not too clear on deadlines and instructions for papers - you may need to ask her to clarify in class.

She is a very nice person. However, in class I felt like she made up the class hour as she went. There are no tests or quizzes but be expected to do A LOT of writing. She is not very clear on homework assignments and due dates.

Really nice teacher, but class was usually a waste of time. She was always VERY unclear about assignments, due dates, etc. Alot of outside work bc class time is spent doing abstract exercises. She's helpful and concerned, but be prepared to be stressed!

I had Connie for Honors English and she was a great teacher. The class is open to discussion and sometimes the class is very helpful. Overall, it's a easy class. You write, and write some more, but it's not bad to be a honors class. I highly recommend Ms. Connie Rothwell to anyone. If you try and are successful, you should get an A.

Excellent teacher. She cares, and she actually reads your papers. You don't have to grovel for a grade because she respects your opinions, and she respects you as a person. If you put forth the effort, she shows her appreciation. Among the best on the faculty. Recommended if you are serious. Otherwise, take a grad student's class.

I thought the class was pretty good too. She gives you a lot of freedom to be creative as long as you stay within basic conventions.The course I took was NOT like high school. Don't know what others are talking about. Recommended. I'd take another class with her.

Nice person but bad teacher. Class is a waste of time. Papers are easy, no tests. Can have 3 absences. Class is based on discussion about random topics. VERY UNCLEAR about assignments. Will spend whole class doing nothin, like HIGH SCHOOL. She is really sweet, good person but not a good teacher!

I agree. She seems to care for her students and she is very nice but she will not make you a better writer.Take her if all that matters is personality. There are teachers with half the personality but twice the teaching ability.

She is a great PERSON but that doesnt make her is a great teacher. She is very passive when it comes to grading papers and does very little to help u improve your writing. Most of the comments she leaves on your paper will be casual little notes about what you wrote, not whats wrong with your paper.
