By far, the worst professor I ever had in school. He literally took away my passion for computer science. I came to class and stayed involved in the discussion, but I always felt as if he had it out for me. It is very unfortunate that I could not avoid him in order to progress through the major.

Great professor. Very funny and keeps the class entertaining. If you don't pass you probably didn't go to every class and didn't try hard enough.

Certainly one of the worst CS classes I've ever taken. Exams are very difficult and if you miss any lectures you won't pass. Everything is graded on a curve which means you won't know till the very end if you passed.

The way Professor Baudet runs his classroom is not conducive to learning or passing his class. Graded all homework months late, never giving feedback or solutions unless prompted hard in his office hours, where he still managed to be as unhelpful as possible. gives confusing lectures, puts his own spin on material so you cannot learn on your own.

I was warned that Baudet's classes were horrible, but I enjoyed his class. There was a lot more lecturing than I'm used to in computer science classes, but he involves the class and makes you think. Even though he's a tough grader, but he does grade on a curve. I found him to be quite funny, and I love his French accent.

His methods of teaching are very broad-concept and never goes into useful detail (especially in material that could be for homeworks/projects or exams), but once you get used to him you realize that the material is mostly taught with self discipline anyways. You need to go to class to do well, and if you have an open mind, he is hilarious.

Had Baudet for 212, 411 and 412. He ONLY gives pop quizzes -- he will never tell you when one is. Keep your grade up, he will let you skip the final (B 212, C 411, B 412 -- my experience.) 212: lots of programming; queues, stacks, linked lists. 411: tons of circuits -- nonstop homework! 412: threading, memory -- mathy, but not too bad

We spent 75 minutes on a logic gate schematic that didn't work. He offers minimal strategies to problem solving, but does not express what a good design looks like. You could spend an hour designing a circuit of logic gates and find out the next day that there is a major flaw in the design. This course needs a new professor.

Overall, good professor. In my experience, people either hate or love him, and the people that hate him tend not to be the greatest students. If you pay attention in class and have a basic understanding of computer science, it's very difficult to get less than an A- in a Baudet class.

He didn't actually teach the class, it was all based on the online video lectures done by another professor. The quizzes were all based on the reading in the chapters and not at all on the video lectures, so if you watched the video but didn't read you would fail the quiz. Some concepts were pretty difficult and I was saved by my TA in this class.

Although he is there for you if you specifically need help, expect to waste a portion of your life with this dismal class. You won't learn anything useful or new, but that's clearly something that the CS department doesn't care about.

Hard but not impossible. Pop quizzes are a pain and they're pretty difficult. As long as you give a good effort you should pass. Don't expect to do well if you don't practicestudy. Definitely a good learning experience overall.

C'est dificile d'apprendre en clase, mais si tu etudie, tu vas etre bien. He is a self-identifying hard-grader, but only so the students get critical feedback; he scales the grades heavily to account for intensive correction, which I think is great. He lectures for exposure to content, not easy answers, so study and it'll come back in your favor.

His quizzes and exams are EXTREMELY difficult. The grading on them is very harsh, and will average around 40100. The labs are easy if you are good at applying generic ideas before getting specific examples. The programs (4 per semester plus final project) take 6-10 hours a piece.

Exams can be tuff, especially the Part 2 sections. The teacher also is a tuff grader and is not afraid to penalize any mistake, no matter how small. That being said, he's very nice and will explain anything however many times it takes for you to understand. Random pop quizes are annoying but always cover material from previous class. Generous curve

He's actually a nice guy if you talk to him, but his teaching skills need improvement. Harsh grader, very anal about specifications. Difficult to learn programming from code written on the board. Grading TAs were sadistic. If you go to him 1 on 1, he'll try everything he can to help, but that doesn't make this class any less of a nightmare.

Very helpful if you go early with your problems. Do not wait till the end of semester, he will be very pissed at this point. Some of us were having trouble with a certain topic, he spent an entire class explaining it. Cares if his students understand the basics before moving on.
