Sharon was the human encyclopedia of everything Broadway. She's retiring after the semester ends, so there's really not much to say. I learned a lot of trivia about musicals through her workshop, but it was useless. It was a pleasure getting to know her, and I wish her nothing but the best in the future.

I didn't experience the strong connection that is needed for a voice teacher to be effective. Though she is knowledgeable about general technique, her focus is heavily classical which does not align with what I am looking for. She did give some helpful and constructive feedback that helped me develop my tone but was occasionally blatantly rude.

I liked Sharon's teaching, I took her online course, and it was really fun, quite a lot of work to learn a new piece every week, but we received valuable feedback, real opportunity to grow as a singer

The class was very simple and very easy, however I don't feel that I learned anything about musical theater or that it expanded my capability.

I love Sharon Brown! She can be tough for sure, but she really knows what she's doing, and I think she's very fair in her feedback. Extremely knowledgeable about Musical Theatre and Musical Theatre History! Highly recommend.

I'm glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews, this class was actually pretty good. Even having no prior musical theater experience I learned a lot about performance craft and popular musicals and go to perform some fun roles. It does help to be organized, practiced, and have good attendance. Sharon is a very helpful teacher and a caring person.

Sharon gave us a lot of rehearsals and pretty much took up both Saturdays and Sundays of every weekend. Despite all the work, I enjoyed the class and we had a good show to show for it in the end.

AMAZING! THAT IS ALL! She challenges you to go beyond yourself and to take risk! Phenomenal. If your style is Musical Theater/Classical? This is THE ONE! She's one of the few that really know the voice and isn't just teaching from "what worked for her!" She expects a lot but it's what we need!

AS A PRIVATE INSTRUCTOR, she is phenomenal. She understands your voice and knows how to take it to the next step. She definitely challenged me this semester and through her insight, I've come to figure out my own capability and weaknesses. Also if you sing musical theater, there is no better instructor for you.

Sharon is interested in performers, not artists. If you like to be told what to do, and how to do it, take this class...you'll be a perfect puppet. but if you're creative and actually want to contribute, don't waste your time

Had her for Vocal Tech for Non-Vocalists. I didn't really notice favoritism, she only really picked on people who didn't do their work or consistently showed up late. Jolly for the most part, strict but never overly so. Could never hear myself warming up though coz she always sang over me.

I can definitely see where the favoritism comments come from and I was not a favorite by any means. She did teach me a great deal about how to keep my instrument sounding beautiful for years to come and I thank her so much for that. Highly recommend her.

As a private instructor she's alright. She does not always seem genuine, but she is never mean or rude. She does help with technique. I also had her for musical theater. She had favorites in class and you could tell by the difference in how she talked to each person. She doesn't heed the opinions of others often, and she can be moody.

The main issue is that she does not equally treat students in a class. Immediately targets preffered students. If you singMusic theatre and classical, great, other?,well lets put it this way...does not easily get along with everyone. A person who sang music theatre screwed the song up, forgot words, etc and she loved it. Other styles.. she gets ana

Comment:
Sharon and I did not get a long. When I took voice from her, she force fed me arias. I would have been fine perfecting my classical technique and working on a couple of classical pieces, but she wouldn't let me learn the things I wanted to learn. I went to Berklee to study contemporary music. I want to be versatile. Not one-dimensional.
