Prof. Poe is easily the best teacher I have had at SCU. TAKE her for math and you will see why! She has a funny personality and is extremely caring, motivating, and dedicated to all of her students - she truly wants all of her students to succeed. You have to work hard, but the class is organized and she's always willing to help.

A lot of homework, 3 a week almost every week. Although the homeworks were easy, the tests were difficult which made it hard to prepare for the tests since the questions on the homework were so easy and the questions on the test were hard.

Hard class, but Prof. Poe makes it understandable. Breaks things down step-by-step. Homework is based on effort but she still tells you where you went wrong. She cares about her students a lot which makes you want to do well. I'm actually enjoying math. Take her if you can!

I waited 2 years to finally be able to get into her class. Totally worth it. I felt comfortable right away. Class will be challenging but I'm looking forward to it. She makes me want to come to class. Totally synchronous, which is what I need to learn math. Everyone should get to experience a class with her.

Best math teacher I've ever had. Crystal clear lectures. Super nice about answering questions in class and helping in office hours. HW load is manageable. Exams are fair. I wish I could take all my math classes with her.

Professor Poe is the absolute sweetest professor ever. Not only does her personality make her an entertaining lecturer, but she will always go the extra mile to get you the help you need- she got me in contact with another person to help me register for classes when I was confused! 100% recommend- no problems with her at all.

She is a very motivational but honest teacher. I found her to be super helpful whenever I had a problem and would reach out to her, she was very understanding and willing to help. Overall a fair teacher to all of her students.

Math has never been so clear to me. She's so full of energy that you kind of forget it's math class. I wish we were not online because I can't even imagine how great she'd be if she's this good online. She's funny and kind and wants students to do well which makes you not want to let her down.

Excellent professor! She is incredibly considerate of her students, always available to answer questions during class or office hours or by email. Poe goes out of her way to ensure the success of her students and genuinely wants students to do well. Tests are manageable. Office hours help a lot. She was very patient with my endless questions.

She's the best!! Super clear. Very helpful in class and in office hours. She met me on a Sunday afternoon for help even. Obviously gets it how hard it's been on students to go online and does everything she can to help you do well. Stats has been way better than I thought it would be. Wish I could take more classes with her.

Math 12 is hard, but Prof. Poe was right when she said hard work pays off in this class. She makes you want to work hard. She's so nice and clearly wants everyone to do well you don't want to disappoint her. Her lectures are crystal clear. HW and review prepare you for tests. I have to take Math 8 also. I'll only take it with her.

She rushed through her explanations of the concepts and just told us that we'll understand them better when we do the hw. When I came up to her and told her I don't understand something she rushed through her explanation and when I said I still didn't get it, she just said I'll get it when I do the hw. Maybe I just took her at a bad time.

Poe is SO excellent!! She's managing to make learning on Zoom feel almost like we're in the classroom. I was really worried going into this online quarter, but she's outstanding. Clear lectures, never boring, provides tons of help, lots of feedback on homework. If she's this good online I can't imagine how she must be in person.

I've taken 3 classes with Poe. A lot of my friends had her for multiple classes too. She's the best! Math was never my thing, but I actually enjoyed going to her class (even at 8 a.m.). She makes you want to do the work and do well. You can tell she puts a lot into her teaching. Poe's like Red Bull-she'll give you (math) wings.

One of the best math professors I've had! She is very honest about what we'll need to know in future courses and doesn't waste our time with useless information. Her lectures are funny but also very helpful. She makes sure that every single class is worth going to.

Why anyone would skip her class is a mystery. She's so clear in her explanations. I heard stats was hard, but she made it easy. Very patient in class and in office hours. Lots of review problems. Super nice. So glad I got to experience her class.
