HORRIBLE. One word to sum it up, Horrible. Two words? Ridiculously horrible. She does not help you as a student as well as grades very hard. I went from my 101 class with a 97% to her class and ended with a 75%. I took Spanish before, so i know the content but she is just very hard and unbearable. Please stay away if you can! Wish i would have

Never took Spanish before this class. She moves fast so it's best to prepare before lecture, It really helps. She's very enthusiastic and wants you to learn. Practice ALOT and you'll do great.

She assigns homework without first going over it in class, but goes over it after it is turned in. When asked a question she only refers to the book.

Requires a lot of participation, homework and time. Difficult to keep up without prior exposure to Spanish. Requires both textbook and online homework. She is so enthusiastic that it is a pity. Her tests are not difficult, but study for the oral portion from examples in the book.

I also signed up with a different teacher but ended up with her. At first it was difficult to get use to her teaching style. But if you actually give it a chance, you'll be fine. It just takes some time to get use to her teaching style. She wants you to succeed, so just put in the work. My class has some very immature people & she handles them well

Most horrible teacher ever. I never had a worse teacher than her. I regret taking her class. I got roped into it because the teacher I was supposed to have decided not to teach it. I thought id give her a chance, but after the first test I felt so ill prepared because she didn't teach it well at all. She makes you feel dumb when youre wrong

If you want a helpful professor, she is not the one to get. She doesn't explain anything. You have to read the book and figure out all the grammar for yourself. The class mostly consists of group work. She makes you feel stupid if you get a question wrong or don't understand something. Not recommended if you have no prior knowledge of Spanish.

Already having 3 years of Spanish, this class was easy for me. However, I don't know how I would have got by without any previous experience. She gives commands in Spanish that haven't been taught. She doesn't really teach in class, but expects you to learn on your own from the textbook. She's helpful with questions, but has an awkward personality.

I just took her in fall 2010. She is an hyper teacher but not very good at explaining. she moves through the material very quickly and She isn't interested in helping students outside of the classroom. Most of the learning comes from teaching yourself and her putting you on the spot in class. she calls on people randomly

Profesora Rapp is really a good teacher. She requires lots of participation in class discussions. She gives some homework but its usually fairly easy. Her exams are not hard and shes not into trick questions. To get a good grade know the vocab and raise your hand a bit. It's a fun class.

Mixed feelings about this professor. She will give out homework on future lessons & then grade them. She's nice but sometimes, personally, she makes me feel a little slow. She definitely expects you to WANT to learn Spanish. She HATES use of cellphones in class; she'll call you out on it during class. She does help during the oral part of exams.

EXTREMELY HARD!! She wants you to understand spanish before you even get to class. She doesnt go over instructions on homework, she expects you to read them in spanish and then know what she wants! BEWARE-If you do take her, use google translator, it helped me tons!

I may be biased because of my prior spanish experience, but I liked Rapp. Participate in class and do the homework. She goes over the material on the test repetitively. Naturally all of the spanish courses at U of M-D are challenging to students with no prior experience. Rapp explains things well to ALL students.

Very difficult course. Expects some spanish background before taking 101. Basically she teaches from the book. And the book is NOT a good tool for learning a language. Lots of homework and no make-up work. If youve never taken spanish before, do NOT take her. Go to HFCC or OCC and try and transfer it in.

Hardest Spanish Teacher on Campus! Beware! I only took her through part of the semester before switching to another class. She speaks almost the entire time in Spanish even though it's only 102. If you're not really good at Spanish watch out. She's nice but her class is very difficult.

I had 101 with this professor and did fine, however I remember some material from hs. 102 has been a disaster. You are better off teaching yourself. She expects you to already know the material right off the bat. I would never take her again. Even the tutors say she is the toughest Span teacher and grader. Only has one way of explaining things.
