Comment:
The professor is terrible, her lectures are drawn out, boring, and not clear. Sometimes you have to rewind 3 to 4 times before you understand what she's saying. Exams aren't too tough but know a lot of detail and she sometimes tests you on things that were never discussed in the textbook or lecture. Overall, I wish I dropped this class.

class is really hard to sit through, but attendance is ec so definitely go to class. lectures straight from the book. she treats us like babies but her tests are insanely confusing. lots of ec and getting a decent grade isn't impossible. wouldn't recommend this teacher unless you're really into the subject

I'm really surprised Manning has bad reviews. Overall, the class is definitely not that bad. Nothing spectacular or incredibly interesting, but definitely not bad. She made herself available when i had questions about an assignment and gives you study guides for each test. She gives you points just for answering the clicker questions. Its not bad.

She is an average teacher, a bit harsh, if i had a real class with her (not FYE class) might be worse.

I contemplated dropping the class but she assured me the extra credit would boost my grade. Now I wish I had dropped it. None of the powerpoints make sense and the tests ask questions about things we've never once discussed.

I'm really surprised at all the reviews on her. I took her NTDT 301 class last year and she's not that bad AT ALL. Attendance is mandatory but the subject matter was interesting and I loved the fun assignments (field trips, visiting ethnic food places, etc.). She is a little eccentric but it was actually my favorite class I've taken so far.

The book is crucial to doing well in this class. Carolyn Manning's lectures aren't fit to inform a fourth grader, let alone a college class, but you need to get those clicker points. Find anyone off the street remotely more capable of teaching Nutrition.

Tried very hard to give her a chance. I am left stunned that she was/is ever allowed to teach a college level class. By far one of my worst teachers ever! Not nice and not helpful when you ask. Really felt like I have learned nothing from her and a lot of times she gives conflicting information.

Most frustrating professor possible. Literally cannot pay attention in her class. She couldn't make less sense. Takes attendance so you have to go which sucks because she basically reads the textbook to you. She takes random points off assignments and can;t even follow her own guidelines. A joke of a class turned into a nightmare. Don't take.

Extremely inconsistent with her grading. Some questions on the quizzes weren't even covered in the book or in her lecture (ie how to make fruit salad). She treats you like a child and finds something wrong with every thing you do. Some times to fill up class time she rambles about useless information rather than letting us go or moving to a new top

She is the worst teacher I have ever had. Treats you like a child and finds something wrong with everything you do! Very condescending with her answers and seems like she wants to teach a home economics class instead of a food science class. Retire please!!!

Class is pointless, unfortunately attendance is mandatory. Her grading system is basically incomprehensible because every time you turn something in she grades it differently. For a 1 credit class, the assignments are useless but required to pass. Good luck with this woman.

Not a difficult class, but Manning is a useless professor. All she does is stutter and stumble over her words, and she is horrible at explaining things. Study the study guides AND the notes for quizzes and you should be fine. It's really not hard to get a good grade, it's just hard to listen to her talk.

this womman is the most scattered brained person i've ever met. if you take her intro class she'll try to fail you for dumb things but she lets you resubmit them. however when you resubmit them shell change her mind about what right and wrong and fail you once again for the same assignment. as for 201, it sucks

Makes class easy, and shes really nice, but her lectures arent very good. The powerpoints are easy to understand, but her organization of her notes are all over the place, and she seems to lose her place when she speaks, never really finishing a thought.

Pointless class. The information learned is interesting but the professor is a senile scatter brain. She is horrible at lecturing but she takes attendance so you must suffer. The questions she asks on quizzes and study guides are inconsistence, vague, and confusing. Lab is fun though. Good Luck!

a lot of times i feel the class is just a waste of time with useless activities to take up the time in the class. i also feel like she has no idea what she's talking about if you ask her a question beyond what the book says. her quizes can be rediculous...so much studying for 15 lowsy points! and some of the questions are so far fetched!
