Comment:
He gives out 30 points of extra credit as long as you don't miss more than two classes. He also gives you all the old quizzes and tests so you can practice before the exam. The exam and quiz average scores are pretty low, but with the exam credit and his grading scale its not that hard to get an A.

He's very monotone and doesn't have exciting lectures. No homework, but tests are tough. Gives 40 points extra credit for attendance, with two free skips. Would definitely recommend taking another professor.

Professor Falls is a very nice man. He's a bit hard to understand at times, but when you understand him the subject matter is pretty clear. Just beware that you need to show up to class and read all the textbook chapters he covers or you won't pass

Easy class if you show up and study the power point slides that he gives you. You always know what to expect on quizzes and tests. Gives good real life examples for things learned in class. Knows what he is talking about and I would definitely take another economics class with him.

I would never ever recommend this professor. He is confusing and never clear on what the concept actually is. All he says is "gee, mkay". Lectures are hard to follow and very fast pace.

He gives extra credit for coming to class, otherwise I would not have attended as much as I did. He reads right off of his PowerPoint, and is very difficult to understand because he mumbles. He did answer questions if students asked. Be prepared to study a lot unless you have a lot of prior econ knowledge. I would avoid his classes if possible.

He was an incredibly nice guy and I feel bad giving him such a bad grade. He was incredibly boring and his lectures were so long. He found a way to make the most simple things complicated. Tests and quizes are a little hard but nothing terrible. Overall, I would not reccomend taking him.

Comment:
His lectures covered everything. Nobody ever asked questions or said they didn't understand the material, so he assumed we understood everything and kept moving on. Was always very willing to explain in greater detail. Exams and quizzes are hard, but fair. Don't miss class since he gives attendance points. Nice man & very knowledgeable.

This class is very difficult if you do not have prior knowledge in Econ. His lectures are hard to understand, even when he uses examples. I learned a lot from reading through the book after class to barely comprehend the lesson. Study guides are given to cover broad topics but Exams have specific questions. You have to study hard to pass the class

He is a nice guy, but does not make sense a whole lot. His hand writing is awful. You have to sit in the front to see what he writes. Tests are really hard even though it is multiple choice. Unless you know some economics prior I would not recommend taking him.

Comment:
Dr. Falls is a nice person, however does not meet expectations as a professor. 370 is arguably one of the hardest classes that CMU offers, but his teaching didn't make it any easier. He expects students to understand concepts the first time they're taught, which makes future lectures even more difficult and useless.

He teaches everything he tests on very well, and does a good job of explaining important concepts. However, tests are very broad and difficult. He gives study guides for all tests at the beginning of the semester. Take them with you to class and use them to study. Low test averages are normal, but he curves at the end of the semester.

Really nice guy but this class is impossible if you are new to economics like i was. His exams are extremely hard the class average on every test or quiz was below a C-. If you bomb one quiz your grade is SCREWED. Avoid unless you have taken an econ class before.

Nice guy with good intentions, although this is my most difficult college course yet. He is very hard to understand, mumbles and adds "gee" into every sentence where it doesn't make sense. Handwriting is horrible, and exams are extremely difficult. Hate to say it because he is so nice, but avoid at all costs if you want a good grade.

This is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. Nothing he says is understandable and he teaches from the book. Unless you have a photographic memory: don't take his class. He is a very critical grader and will give you very few points for your work if its not 100%

He is a funny prof to have, his little side jokes usually aren't that funny but he thinks they are. Allows 2 unexcused absences but I highly suggest that you show up to all classes, his notes in class are all the important parts from the each chapter. As long as you study for the quizzes and exams, they are pretty fair. Buy the book and read it.

You don't really need the book for this class. Four exams, no homework. Mumbles in class and has a lot of verbal tics, and his notes are scatterbrained, but if you go through the review sheet, the exams will be very easy.

Hard to understand, but it will come to you after a week, says "Gee Okay" a lot, Exams have a few essays, just go over the study guide he provides and its fine, NO HOMEWORK
