Comment:
This class was definitely self-learn. Only graded out of a homework, quizzes (4), and tests (4). Professor Brunner is very kind and wants you to succeed, but he does not interact with his students a lot (given, this was an online course). No projects, papers, etc. I would take this course with professor Brunner if you need to fulfill this credit!

Dr. Brunner is a great prof! He always started the class with jokes and cares about econ a lot. Be prepared for class bc he calls on students randomly. Get ready to work in the same group all semester in class. Study his study guides to ace exams, it's really not hard to do. Even if you don't like econ, Dr. Brunner makes this class worth attending.

Comment:
Class is lecture heavy and boring but notes are only presented in class (not put online) so attendance is mandatory and counts towards your grade because he calls on groups to answer activity sheets done in class. Exams are the same as the review and are 60-80 MC questions. In-class notes and activities are irrelevant to the exams.

Brunner is a good teacher, but has a strong Republican Bias which sometimes shows in his teaching. Show up to class and take notes, and make sure to ask questions because they benefit your grade at the end of the year. Do the online practice tests he gives at least once a day before the test to retain most of the random material he tests on.

Dr. Brunner tells tons of jokes and is pretty easy to get along with. I took him for ECO204 and the course structure consisted of daily in class exercises and exams with no out of class homework. The exams can be tough and he is very lecture heavy, but show up, study a little bit, and you will be fine.

gives study guides for every exam and the study guide is almost exactly the same as the exams just a few changes. He is a very nice professor and cares about his students but the lectures are rather boring. Attendance is mandatory and you need to get the notes he writes in class anyway

Big % of grade is attendance. Lecture HEAVY, but that's normal for a economic class. His notes consist of random facts, that are needed for the exam. Study guides are very similar to exams. Starts every class with a joke, very laid back.

The lectures are really boring, but attendance is taken every day. The practice quizzes really help when studying for the exam. He is kind of quirky, and kind of quiet, but he means well.

He is a really goofy guy; he shows memes before class starts the majority of days. His lectures give you exactly what you need for the exams, and his practice quizzes are almost identical to the actual exams. Definitely Recommend!

Attendance is mandatory and lecture is dry, but his lectures give you exactly what you need for the exam. He really knows econ and is easy to talk to if you need help or need to change the date of an exam.

Potentially the most boring class you will attend during your time at CMU. No textbook. Writes in notebook under projector every class period and course content is completely unstructured. 4th grade handwriting. Clearly knowledgable, but his teaching style reflects the 80s. Attendance mandatory. Lifeless lectures. Learned very little, but easy A

No book is provided so you must take notes. Majority of grade is testing. Attendance and participation is required. Homework is minimal. Has a different type of humor which I found interesting, but most students did not. I recommend printing the lecture notes prior to class so you can follow along during the lecture and highlight important items.

Loved his class. Lectures for a huge majority of most classes. He didn't require a textbook so everything that was on the exams was stuff he went over in class. Gives practice tests that are almost the same as the actual tests usually 2 classes before actual tests and posts the answers online. Loves you if you ask questions

Professor Brunner is an awesome professor. If you are an Econ student at CMU he is one of your best bets to take. If you take notes and pay attention in class you will pass. He is also a very nice guy and is very flexible about missed classes

Such a sweet man. Lectures aren't fun, but the topic isn't all that fun. Notes are handwritten so follow along in class and take book notes. Using statistics on the exams will get you an A. 3 exams w/ 5 essay questions in which you get to pick from 10 total. The only other grades are abstract reading summaries & attendance. I'd recommend.

He is a good teacher if you are interested in econ. I was bored every class and each hour went on forever. He is really scattered all over the place for every lecture. I ended up stopping with notes and just winged the tests. He curves every test at least 13 points out of the average 85 point tests.

Such a boring class, incredibly easy. If you're at all interested in economics don't take, very disappointed. Ended up with an A, yet didn't learn anything. The entire course is geared to spewing conservative trickle down economics facts. Someone could essentially miss every class and if you went into the exams with a republican agenda, easy A.

Professor Brunner started off every class with cheesy jokes, but you couldn't help but laugh. Attendance counts, exams are all true and false multiple choice with crazy curves, and his lectures are a little boring. He doesn't require a textbook which was nice. Would definitely take again.

Brunner is absolutely awesome. There was no homework to be had in this class except for studying. Puts up jokes on the overhead every day. Would definitely take again. P.S. Go to class, your grade depends on your attendance.
