I would like Professor Myers as a grandfather, but not as a professor.Yes,he's extremely smart, but you can hardly hear him when he talks!I had him in a large lecture & he used a microphone but I could NEVER understand him!He gives several pop quizes(10 mult.choice),2 tests,2 papers,&1 final which I studied hours for&didn't do well.so much reading!

Dr. Myers is probably the smartest professor at the entire university. He knows so much about Nazi Germany and he genuinely cares about the topic and every student in the class. His lectures can definitely be hard to hear or understand but he is such a sweetheart. Take it, you won't be sorry. 2 paper, 2 presentations, midterm and final.

this man is very intelligent. i think he knows everything anyone could possibly know about history and he has a lot of interesting and funny personal stories. however, this class is tedious - lectures are difficult (he uses a microphone but it doesnt help and often doesnt work).but if u like history u will b fine. if not u will work fairly hard

Bring your hearing aides. I sat in the second row and he mumbled in to a microphone and I still couldn't understand him. Renders the already scattered lectures totally useless. Still had an attendance policy so I went to class and read the book. Class is overly broad and he doesn't help narrow it down. Avoid if you can.

Dr. Myers is my hero. The man is ancient, and lectures are boring, but he knows soo much. He doesn't use notes for lectures, so he can ramble from time to time. Listen and take notes in lecture, you'll do great. 2 10-minute presentations, 2 10-page papers on the presentation topics, midterm, final. Super easy and awesome, take it if you can!!!

Professors Myers is an adorable old man and has a passion for history and can throw in a few funny lines here and there! He is an easy grader but his lectures are really boring. He speaks through a mic and it's hard to understand him most of the time but if you follow the readings, then his quizzes and tests are easy.

Very old and hard to understand. Mumbles into a microphone every class and is still barely audible. Reads straight from his notes without looking up. Don't bother going if you can't sit in first few rows. Be prepared for literally hundreds of pages of reading a night, not a week, A NIGHT. Uses TA to answer all questions. Not worth it as a gen ed

The class isn't awful..he's just really old!! It's really boring, hard to stay awake. If you do the reading you should be totally fine though. Aside from suffering through the lectures, it was a pretty easy class.

If you want to learn something, don't take this class. He's too old to be teaching and the scope of the class is too broad. However, an A is relatively easy if you half understand his lectures and closely read his Global Experience, which he helped compile. Don't bother with the textbook. I did better without it. But the books r interesting.

Given that Dr. Myers has traveled around the globe twice and been in the middle of much of global history for the last 50 years, I would suggest taking this class. Read the material, two papers (7-8 pgs you pick the topic). Have to read to do well.

He is pretty old and kind of hard to pay attention to, but if you go to class and take notes and read the Global Experience readings, you'll be fine. Lowest 2 quiz grades are dropped (out of 6) and usually are about the Global Experience and random facts from class. I would recommend if you're interested in history and don't mind the reading.

He is very intelligent and definitely knows a lot about history, however I find it hard to understand him and hard to concentrate on what he is talking about. Very boring, unless you LOVE history. Many quizzes, a couple tests, and 2 papers. The research paper is long (7-8 pages) but I have actually enjoyed the paper since I picked a topic I like.

its not so much him being boring as students not paying any attention & being flat out disrespectful- he's incredibly intelligent..do the reading & you'll be fine, tests are 10 pt. MC & easy essays, the research paper is lengthy but broad..i'm taking him again the next 2 semesters, great prof.

Regardless of his age Dr. Myers knows his stuff. I am so impressed by how much he knows. He loves the subject and although it can be a little dry it definitely is very interesting stuff. There is so much I had not idea about with Nazism. 2 Presentations with corresponding papers, midterm and final but he is an easy grader too!

Smartest Professor I've ever had. He did not teach in chronological order, which is definitely hard to get used to. But you can throw out any year and he can tell you what happened during it on any part of the world. He invited his upper levels over to his house for dinner and he cooked for us! Super sweet guy!

Poor Henry. He is the sweetest old man on the planet but he can't really teach. He is so smart but it is incredibly difficult to stay awake in class. Two tests, one cumulative final, 6 quizzes (lowest two are dropped), one paper. He is so cute but the tests and quizzes usually have random classes. Read the book and extra readings= B+

Very boring teacher. Myers is literally 75 years old and they are very boring lectures. they put you right to sleep. he has 6 quizzes, 2 lowest ones are dropped. his tests arent that bad if you read the textbook. you won't get anything out of the lectures. you can only miss 2 classes and he assigns an 8 page research paper. Hes okay but very boring

This is his 99th semester teaching, so his lectures are slow and sometimes boring, reading is a must in this class if you want to do well, but if you read and go to class you will do very well. He knows what hes talking about and he has amazing personal stories that give valuable insight to the textbook reading. The class is worth taking.

No doubt Myers knows everything about history considering he's been living since before WWII. Boring lecture, try not to fall asleep. Easy grader on papers, and test aren't bad at all. Recommend not leaving reading till last minute, but if you pull an all nighter its possible to quick read a lot of the main book in one night. Recommend taking him
