FANTASTIC!!! I absolutely loved his class. He includes an even amount of dance, stretching and general physical wellness to the class. He is a professor that teaches with tough love. Some may find this as too harsh, but in my experience it was perfect for the class. It was fun and I left every day feeling like I accomplished something.

He understands this is a beginner class and not everyone has been dancing or doing ballet their whole life but he doesn't tolerate slackers. He pushes everyone to be their best and encourages you with witty yet constutive comments. Highly recommend this class for anyone, not just theater/dance majors!

(Ballet) The best instructor I've ever had. He's funny and won't accept anything but your best. I was a beginner and he challenged us from day one and teased me on my technique, but in a way that corrected my errors. It hurt sometimes, but all he said was true and, in retrospect, I wouldn't have the confidence I have today without that extra push.

Patrick was great I thought. I wasn't by any means one of the best or most talented students in his class and we both knew it. He frequently teased me publicly when I messed up, but it wasn't in a mean way and I found it funny. I got an A in the class even though I struggled with most of the dance routine. If you try you'll make it no prob.

Really strict but in a good way. He really helps better yourself and will answer any questions with a direct answer. Very blunt and expects a lot but only because he wants people to do their best. Not a class for slackers. Write down in your notebook after every class. Not just the new things he went over but also the corrections he made for you

good teacher, really helped the people who had no idea what they were doing. makes comments to people that may be hurtful to someone, so have tough skin coming into his class. dont go into the class thinking you know everything otherwise he will put you in your place

He is hard and uses constructive criticism but it's only because he's trying to make you a better dancer. Come to class, write in your notebook, and KNOW THE DANCE TO A TEE, it's your exam! He takes nervousness into consideration though he should grade those who have danced longer on a harder scale vs. beginners.

He's tough, and doesn't take any crap. If he sees that you aren't pushing yourself, then you may as well not come at all. He's hard to like if you don't push, he's mean even. But if you push yourself, even if you can't do the harder moves, he will notice it, and he will help you more than ever.

Mr. Johnson expects alot but will help you reach your full potential. He pushed me to do things I did not even know I was capable of. If he sees talent he will help you emensly. He is one of the best instructors I have ever had! If your not afraid to hear the truth and improve-TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!

Both classes we conducted similar (with different dance styles) He's a good teacher however I personally didn't like him. He made me feel as if I couldn't dance or do anything. this class is tough he doesn't like the people who think it's an easy A...so work hard...AND DO THE JOURNALS.

He was a pro in NYC before he came here, not that he'll tell you that. Sure, he's tough. But that's what makes a dance class worth taking. He's great as long as you want to improve. That said - honey, get serious or get out.

TH 115 with him is probably not your best option if you are not a *decent* dancer. He is fun, knows what he's doing and will answer questions if you have them, but this is more a class for those with at lease some experience, not "little or none" as the catalog states. With a class of 25, it's hard for him to see and correct your mistakes.

Good class. He just doesn't like the people that think they can just float through dance to get the extra credit. He is a great DANCE teacher and what he wants to do is teach you dance. GO TO CLASS, try your best, and you should be fine... and have fun!

Mr. Johnson is a great teacher and perfectionist. I am a dance major and I took his tap, jazz, and ballet classes. The classes are very easy. What they need to do is make more advanced classes for the peope that have danced longer can have a challenge. Auditions need to be held.

he's a great teacher...pushes hard, but that's what dancers need. demanding of the body, IT'S DANCE, deal with it. if you're more advanced, he'll work with you, and if your a newbie he'll push you to get the level he knows you deserve. great class, taking more.
