Don't recommend taking him (at least not for online). You were expected to read 4 chapters a week on top of doing Bb discussion and answering essay-like prompts. The prompts have articles attached to them for you to read that can be 20 pages per article. Sometimes it's 2 pages, sometimes it's 20. Every week, I summitted a 12-14 page paper. Not fun.

Love of God DO NOT TAKE HIM. In his class now for an accelerate Spring class. Way too much writing. The midterm wasn't too bad. It had MC and essays. BUT OMG. The FINAL is ALL essays and to do the essays you have to read articles that are - no lie - 20 pages long. Like I don't know how I am going to pass this class and I am a good student. RUN!!!!!

He tells a lot of stories that I think take away from what we are learning. To be honest I medically withdrew and I didn't want to do the work. I'm sure if you put in the work you'll be fine.

I took this as a winter course over break. The class consisted of 3-4 essays a week, a midterm and final. The grading criteria for the essays was extremely vague and no individual feedback was given. I never received a grade for my final exam or last couple of assignments as well.

In this class, you will sit and listen to his life stories and then take 2 tests on LECTURE NOTES ONLY. Reading does nothing and there was no homework. I'm sure I could have done better but I would stay away from him.

I took this class over the summer for transfer credits, and it was my worst experience so far. I learned absolutely nothing. There are no video lectures, no powerpoints, no anything, just a syllabus that guides you with what chapters to read. Weekly 2-3 page writing assignments, 2 take home tests. didnt read textbook at all except for definitions.

Not gonna lie, he is very funny but got off topic a lot. Some days, I don't think we even learned anything about the topic of sociology. There was little to no work until the end of the semester where there was a 20 page assignment. There wasn't a single grade posted until we got a final grade at the end. I'm pretty sure he just gives everyone a B.

Comment:
He is disorganized in his approach to teaching and focuses heavy on racial aspects but not in an intellectual/safe way. He specifically talks about racism and white supremacy as it pertains to black people as a way to gain shock value but undermines the experiences/opinions of black students. If you're black don't take his course.

Very insensitive toward students that come to him for help. Does not answer emails and does not show you any of your grades until AFTER the class is over, however you have to physically ask him for a copy of your grades as he puts nothing into blackboard. Had notes on everything he said and still did not get the grade I was expecting.

I really dont think its fair to hide a students progress and grades from them the entire semester. He put no grades in blackboard making it impossible to see our progress, and it was pretty much a surprise at the end of the semester but of course its too late to change it. Think thats unfair and should not be allowed.

I do have to say, I wish he gave us more assignments for grades. Our only grade was the final. And if you dont do well, you fail. For the amount of notes we took we shouldve had more assignments for grading. Great teacher though and will help if you ask. Take notes on everything he says!!!

He lectures a lot and you have to have notes on the lectures for the midterm and final. It is open notes but you need the notes. The multiple choice section pulls info from the book. Your grade is based on the midterm, final, and we had like 7 essays due the day of the final. A lot of what he says doesn't connect to the material very easily

Very disrespectful person makes fun of sensitive topics. I am someone who isn't sensitive to risky humor but he takes it way to far. Some of the things he said were extremely disterbing and literally threatening. I can't believe some of the things that came out of his mouth. I didn't even feel like I was in a sociology class.

The class is lecture heave, and you have to make sure you take really good notes. His tests are open note and open book. Papers were a little difficult and criteria for them was not clear. His lectures are fast-paced, but really enjoyable. He has a passion for sociology and is respectful. Follow along and take good notes and you will pass.

Write down everything he says. Lets you use notes for tests. Has a sense of humor but sometimes repeats his lectures and he can teach the same stuff multiple days. Must stay interested or youll have a hard time passing. End of term project is a little hard but he gives you the whole semester to work on it.

He didn't teach much most of the semester. Tests are super easy if you just take notes. He spent a lot of time playing funny videos and most of the time, students just messed around. I watched Netflix or napped. You don't learn much, but it's an easy A. There is 1 project and little to no homework. Late on grading.

to put it lightly, HE WAS THE WORST PROFESSOR IVE EVER HAD. he was extremely disrespectful, made fun of sensitive topics such as mental illness, and brought politics into everything. he spoke as if his opinions were facts. save your time and money, and DO NOT TAKE HIM
