Gea made up2 super understandable. His lectures and textbook are easier to follow. Although there are a lot of assignments, it helps you understand concepts. Physics lab and the library are your #1 go to if you have difficulty understanding something.

Honestly I dont think it matters who you have for UP 1 or 2, The way the classes are structured is absolutely terrible. And good luck with the textbook (specifically the math notation, its downright trash) and this is coming from someone in a 400 level math class.

I read Gea's textbook cover to cover, and found no issues. The textbook more than prepares you for anything you will find on the exam. The lectures I found were more supplementary to the book. He gives a ton of homework assignments so your grade doesn't ride entirely on the exams. Always helpful going to his office hours.

Graduate level quantum 2 is bound to be a hard course, but he made it super fun! He was very receptive to questions in class, and focused on helping us understand the concepts involved, not just formulas and when to use them. The homework was HARD, but if you did it, and understand it, you will do well on the test. He's also super funny and sweet.

Dr. Gea is a very smart man, so much that I think he should be teaching a higher level physics course. He explains things to where its difficult for a physics I student to comprehend, in my opinion. Some people did really great, but I was often lost, even after reading his textbook and working problems.

He is a very kind man who will always attempt to help you, but his questions are often confusing and will take a lot of effort outside of the class. If you listen in class he sometimes gives helpful analogies. Be prepared for the tests or you will not get the grade you want.

Dr. Gea is very kind and cares about his students, but his teaching style is hard to understand with no background physics knowledge. Taking notes and just going to class will not cut it. A lot of outside work needs to be put in to be successful. He isn't always helpful with questions, but he has a great sense of humor and makes lecture enjoyable.

Lectures arent very hands on. Hours of homework each week, pages on pages of open response, very tough grader on those. I took AP physics before so I knew a lot of this stuff in advance, but the way he explained it just made it confusing. Dont like leaving a bad review but hopefully this helps prof correct the problem for future students.

Dr. Gea is a very nice man; however, he is not a great physics teacher. The lectures are absolutely pointless and really only help you with attendance points. I taught myself everything in this course and relied heavily on past physics courses and the textbook.

This class will be difficult if you never have taken a physics course in your life. His textbook isn't much help either; the reading is mostly on theory. Most of the learning comes from the open-response problems and the multiple choice (if you do it right). The Physics Library will be your safe haven.

The book and lectures are confusing. Lectures are only useful for the attendance points. I understand most of the concepts because I learned them in high school. I feel it would be difficult to understand the class without having AP physics background knowledge. Dr. Gea is clearly knowledgeable but communication of the concepts is difficult.

Dr. Gea is very nice and approachable, but his lectures are very confusing. He tends to ramble on about complicated calculus and physics we haven't learned about yet. THE PHYSICS LIBRARY WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND. The TAs are there all day and they are very helpful. I did the majority of my learning in lab. Attendance in lab is crucial to passing.

Not the easiest class but thats to be expected- its University Physics, its going to be harder than College Physics. I had difficulty on the tests but office hours were always accessible and genuinely helped explain the information. You need to put in work outside of class for this course but as long as you put in the work itll be fine.

Dr. Gea was a smart guy who really cared about his students. He was helpful and friendly during office hours and came to class well prepared. This class wasn't an easy A as you were expected to do a lot of the learning on your own, but going to the physics library for help made things easier.

Dr Gea is an incredibly nice professor and really knows his stuff. Those who rate him poorly simply do not understand that in a freshman class with such a heavy curriculum, they've got to take what he teaches during lecture and use it to learn outside class. The many ORs are nearly identical to the exams and help you learn the material.

Dr. Gea is an incredibly knowledgeable professor. I enjoyed his sense of humor and I enjoyed his lectures. You definitely get what you pay for with his textbook (it's free), but going to the physics library outside of class will definitely help you out a lot if you are struggling to understand a topic. He is also very available outside of class.

Dr. Gea seems incapable of speaking like normal person. It's like he's trapped in a world where he can only communicate effectively with other physicists. I HIGHLY recommend learning the material online from Mr. Palmer of Flipping Physics. Watch his videos before attempting the homework since Dr. Gea's textbook has very few helpful examples.

His lectures are pointless but getting clicker points. He begins every sentence with Its basically and ends it with ok haha. The textbook is absolutely terrible, the formatting of the math is indecipherable. I would probably be failing if it werent for the lab and study groups. He is not a good teacher whatsoever.

He doesn't actually teach in class. Everything is learned in lab. He wrote the textbook but it is not helpful in anyway. Tests are hard and the practice exams don't prepare you
