Very straight forward, recommend to go to class every day for better instruction on homework. If you pay attention and read you can get a descent grade. Very CHALLENGING though, not for those looking for an easy A. GOOD LUCK!!

He is basically hard. He wants his assignments to be exactly how he wants them. He takes points off for everything. And he gets off track while he is teaching.

I took the "History of Economics" in 1987. I think of the class often. The work was challenging and intellectually stimulating. After all of these years I am grateful for his passion in teaching and consider his class to be among the best college courses I have ever taken. If you want to learn, not just get an A, take his class.

Dr.Oswald is a straight to the point teacher. He tells you up front what you need to do to be successful in the class. If you miss class or don't pay attention its easy to get lost. Hard class because of subject not teacher.I enjoyed the class. He made macroeconomics interesting.Would take again.

He is very passionate about economics. But he doesn't translate that passion to his students. He sees that the class as a whole isn't understanding, but he barrels straight through the course anyway. It would have benefitted everyone if he could spend more time on certain subjects. PAY ATTENTION, it doesn't benefit you to play on your laptop.

I strongly recommend not taking this class with this professor.Lectures are very dry goes off topic. He is very biased in political view spending majority of class talking about.Powerpoints are the book regurgitated.Very cryptic when asked to clarify hw.If you get something wrong on online quizzes too bad you wont see them he will deny you.

Dr. Oswald's lectures are difficult to follow because he teaches a significant large amount of information in a very short time period. Furthermore, he is unclear when giving out instruction. I didn't know why I had to use the information or how to use the information. The book was very easy to follow and, in truth, enjoyable, but Dr. Oswald at tim

This teacher should not be teaching anymore! I have failed every quiz and homework assignment even though i studied the book and took the practice quizzes for over 2 hours each time. If you miss one little thing on a hw question you fail the entire problem regardless of how much work you did!!! dont take this class with this professor

One of the worst teachers on campus. He does not clearly explain what we do wrong on our homework assignments. Also very biased and tries to turn his class into a political campaign instead of actually teaching the damn class!!!

I've only had 1 D before in my life. i think im getting a D in his class. by far the worst teacher i've ever had. he does not care if the studens understnd him. he does not make it interesting at all. he only reads off of a powrpoint all day. he gives us the slides, but changes them aftewrwards. He always says the book is wrong. Run from him!

This is the second time with him and whole different class. It is like his quizzes/tests are out to get you. He rewords things in a manner to confuse the student. Do not take if needed. He gets mad that people don't do the reading but he is actually reading out of the book for his lectures.

I consider myself a good student. I love learning and I don't go to class for the grade, and I usually get A's and B's. I missed two days in this class and I could never catch up again. After that, I sort of just had to give up. His lectures are way too fast, and his voice is very monotone. This is the 1st and only D I've ever received in my life.

Prof Oswald is a good teacher. Students have to remember that this is a higher education course and leave your social life for outside of class. I know of some fellow classmates that think he is boring, but this is place for learning. Students tend to blame their misfortunes on someone else to make them feel better. Truth is, i learned a lot!!!!!!!

High book use, like stated, attendance is not needed when he uses the powerpoints from the publisher... its like reading the book in class. All tests are created from a test bank. Even after reading the book and doing the homework, the tests are still difficult.

Do not recommend. He doesnt like visitors at his office. He doesnt even put where his office is located on the syllabus and it's for a purpose. Do not take him unless you are a genius or econ is your thing.
