Ed is very knowledgeable but when other instructors are asked questions about the test that he generated and they have to look up the answer, that's an obvious sign of how hard his exam and lecture quizzes are. The language he uses when describing anatomy can be offensive. If you don't show up to zoom you will not know what's on the tests.

I signed up on this site just to leave this review. TAKE ED for A&P! If you can pass his class you can do anything. He really gives you tons of opportunities to do well and if you don't take advantage of them then maybe you aren't ready for the big leagues ( university or nursing school ). I left the A&P series feeling well prepared. '

Ed is very knowledgeable, a passionate educator, and willing to help. However, I would not recommend his class. I enjoy learning and am willing to work hard, but working hard in his class is demoralizing and disorienting. The tests are full of tricks and material not covered in class. It leaves me unsure about what ive actually learned.

ed is a true gem for students who truly are here to learn. you wont have lectures like his with any other prof. he knows his stuff, he loves to talk about it and he is a wealth of advising knowledge as well. helps you think clinically and challenges your knowledge on tests. quizzes can be retaken unlimited times. go to his nonmandatory class!

Do not take Ed! Run! He makes it his goal to make you fail and brags about it. He will ask questions that werent covered in lecture or in the book. Horrible at emailing back. Expects you to study 50-60hrs/week. Some of his lecture quiz ?s dont even make sense and grammar is horrible. Take someone else if you can. I wont take him in 233.

I took online BI 232 with Ed. Yes his tests are very hard, but if you study the lectures and attend Zoom meetings, you will be fine. He allows you to take weekly lab quizzes as many times as you want. I only lost points on lecture exam and final exam. He even helped me with questions about nursing school. Highly recommended.

Ed is a great teacher for such a difficult course. A & P is the hardest series I've ever taken, but Ed broke it all down and made everything easier to understand. He's been at this for a long time, so he really knows his stuff. I also appreciate how he keeps up with modern knowledge because that is so important in the medical field. TAKE ED DEGRAUW

He cares a lot. Although the class is hard he puts a lot of effort into making sure students come out with an A. Can retake lab quizzes unlimited times and keep the highest grade. For the lecture quizzes that needs more studying because it is not unlimited, but after the attempt it is unlimited for practice for the final exam.

Okay so I have to be honest I ran from this professor when I heard the horror stories, bit due to Covid, I got stuck with him for online lecture. I have to tell you, he's amazing. He explains the material extremely well and he's very helpful. He wants you to get this stuff. He's also very humorous. Always reminds you of your impending doom.

The best A&P Professor at PCC. Lectures are informative and interesting. Excellent explanation of material. The hardest quizzes and exams also. You must spend up to 50 hours per week studying in order to get A. No curve for online class. Take for knowledge. If you dont have such much time for studding, you wont pass. No extra credits.

I had no choice but to take 232 with Ed and boy was I disappointed. He fails to breakdown concepts and explain physiological processes in a way that is easy to learn. Tests would often have questions over things not covered in lecture and when brought up to him he was quick to dismiss u. refers to unborn babies as parasites which I was not a fan of

It was an online class during pandemic. His recorded lectures are good to listen, however his test questions are out of nowhere. Average class grade F+, no curve. 5 quizzes, 20 questions each/1 minute per question, and final exam that cover all the material. He misspells words in test question to trick you, so you wont notice and fail it. RUN

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! Ed expects you to memorize everything he does not understand that we have a life because he only probably does A&P! He expects you to know everything and the tests are too hard and expects you to study outside of class for 60+ hours. Do not take this class unless you want to fail or have to withdraw.

This was my second time taking this section of A&P, the only saving grace was that he grades on a curve. first time through getting C's on tests (with no curve), had there not been a curve this time, F's. His tests are TOUGH and TRICKY. You WILL NOT PASS if you don't show up and study hard. So many people dropped this class. You've been warned.

Although he may be smart with AP, when it comes to ethics and morals this guy is a nightmare. He made us all come in today for our final when the school was shutting down due to COVID-19. He fought tooth and nail to make us come in for this, putting everyone at risk. Claiming he wiped things down & didn't. While he joked about it, AWFUL!!!!!!!

He is extremely caring and exponentially smart. Hes personable, makes biology fun, and is understanding. I went through an emotional issue and he worked with me and helped me utilize PCC resources for counseling. His lectures are entertaining and he offers extra credit. Though the class is hard, I cannot respect this man enough for all that he does

If you want an instructor who grades and tests realistically, dont take Ed. Dont let the other reviews fool you. He makes his exams exceptionally hard to weed out students who arent good enough for nursing school. If you want to pass A&P with your self worth intact, look elsewhere. His exams are full of trick questions, so be prepared.

The only students who should take Ed are the ones taking adderall or other stimulants. Absolutely no amount/method of studying prepares you for his exams. He grades on a curve and his average class exam score is always an F. He tests on things he never lectured on, so most of the class relies on the curve. Take only for knowledge, not for an A.

This dude was always running around trying to do as much as humanly possible while talking to students and being as helpful as possible. Hard working, excellent lectures, clear instructions on how to study and be prepared for the tests. Sensitive to student's learning needs, he clearly puts effort into organizing the material so it can be absorbed.
