If you're like me and you took this as a bird course, well you get what you want. He's nice, but you don't get a great professor. I guess Dr. Bernier doesn't work well in an online environment. At times his lectures were helpful for problem sets, but you can just watch specific parts of the recorded lectures or read the slides.

I never had him when we were in person but this guy is an absolute disaster online. Every two weeks he posts a 5-10 minute "microlecture" which is the only real original content he posts. To make up for what he's not teaching, he has linked 10-20 YouTube videos each week. He also doesn't know what asynchronous actually means. Spare yourself.

Dr. Bernier is probably great for in-person classes, but online he just misses the mark. The course is mostly youtube videos and a textbook chapter for reading; the most lecture content he delivers is 1-2 "micro-lectures" (<10 minutes) and a weekly virtual session where we discuss the topics covered that week. No engagement in this class, really.

He has amazing reviews and Im sure he must be amazing under different conditions, but his delivery of our online course is over complicated and unclear. 40% is group work and there are so many things weekly you must do that take up all of your time. He seems kind and everyone likes him in person but online doesnt seem to be his strength

He is a real gem. Approachable, interesting, cares about students, smart. Lecture slides are very straight forward, and tests and assignments are very fair. Took many classes of his and always a good time! Remember to read the textbook tho as he does test questions from there.

great guy, lots of opportunities to boost your mark. Tells you exactly what's on the final. Have to buy a new version of the textbook to get a code for quizzes but never used it once

Luc is the guy. The labs are easy marks and he gives you TONS of iclicker opportunities to raise your mark. This course was an easy gpa booster. Until the final exam. The exam had chem and math questions that I have never seen before as I do not have a background in those subjects. So not sure what that was. Definitely killed my mark. Beware.

Dr. Bernier was one of my favourite profs at McMaster. He really puts in the time and effort to help all students and makes the course content interesting. He also has participation marks and fairly easy assignments to weigh down the midterms/exam

Super nice guy! extremely accommodating to student needs. Only complaint is he does test on a lot of textbook material but overall the testing is not too hard.

Bird course. Attend lectures as iClickers are 10% of the grade. He will give you the final exam questions a few weeks prior to the exam and the quizzes are available on quizlet. Labs are super easy and 35% of the gradeAs a prof, he is super sweet, caring, accessible outside class and very approachable, loves his students and wants them to succeed.

Luc Bernier is the biggest gem I've ever seen. He gives u everything you need to know for the final, 10% iclicker PARTICIPATION and labs are easy af. He's very considerate with other life sci courses and extends the deadline for some quizzes. You definitely will not know whats going on in the course, but youll love it anyways

Bernier is my favorite professor, his lectures manage to cheer me up and he really cares about his students. I mean who else carries two of those huge green cushioned chairs over to the middle row for their students? He's funny and makes his lectures fun to learn while staying on task and informative. He also takes time to answer Q's during lecture

One of the best profs at Mac if you can stand his French accent. Tests are all m/c (with only 4 options!) and fairly simple. I took 3 courses with him already and got A+ in all of them.
