Worst feedback known to man. I swear he didn't even read any of my essay's. got 75% on every single one despite putting everything I needed in each of them.

He is a good teacher but NEVER responds to his emails. Also, I found that he marks pretty difficult and barley tests on actual lecture material. Its all from the textbook.

David seems a bit stuck up. He really started the class by saying "this is the most important class you'll ever take". It wasn't. There are only a few projects that are graded, along with the tutorial. Tutorials are ok depending on your TA, but the assignments are really hard. Formatting is a big thing for him and he doesn't give good feedback.

You only need to be in class for the tutorials. You can check when the tutorials are gonna be on coursespaces. All lectures are in coursespaces as well. He is not specific about what's gonna be on the test. This course is mostly homework, reading and the 2 tests.

Dr. Zimmerman is not an exciting person, however, that does not mean he is a bad prof. He is clear on what he wants, lays out assignments pretty well, and doesn't choose questions that are too wild and out of his lectures/readings. The class was dry and at 8:30, but Zimmerman did a completely adequate job. Final was also in-class, yay!

Very knowledgeable but when asks questions in tests, he wants you to reverberate what he taught. If you get a chance to pick a course with him, make it a fourth year class. I found he was an 'easier' marker (still tough) compared to his 300 level classes. He gives a lot of marks for just being in class. The readings are important so try to do

His lectures are great for note-taking, he is a fair marker and knowledgeable, but he can be very ignorant at times. He does seem to have insulted certain people for different reasons (not outright to their face) but subtly. He also seems like the "hipster" historian, going against the flow and the main arguments that other historians have stated.

Very knowledgeable but talks to you like you're 5. His tests cover a lot of material and the paper isn't marked easily, but the tutorials boost your grade back up. He posts his lecture notes online which is nice. Unless you're fascinated with WW2, I wouldn't taking this an elective with him.

Ok, so here it goes, The classes are incredibly well presented and and well received. However, this professor does not put his notes up soon enough, and his expectations are incredibly high. This class felt like three classes in one. There are a lot of expectations. Attend everything, and score high on your paper and tutorial (you'll pass or B-

I found that I was able to learn a lot in his class. He puts all slides online so you can refer to them when you go on your notes, and he tells you exactly what he expects on all tests and papers. He also gives you the sources to use for your papers, but leaves the thesis up to you. Also doesn't have a textbook, at least not in my class.

Zimmerman is knowledgeable but he is a VERY tough marker. Furthermore he's extremely arrogant, bashes every other departmentprogram, expects super specific answers to his vague questions and CANNOT SPELL WORTH A DAMN!! By god its hard to take him seriously when he literally makes the most ridiculous errors in his slides. His way or the highway

He seems nice on the first few days, but increasingly gets rude and less helpful every class. I had to drag myself there every day as he was so boring as he spoke. He yells and has no respect for students, or anyone else it seems. HE insulted every profession and every students area of study. worst class I have taken at UVIC

Good professor all around. His lectures are interesting, informative and clear. The tutorials require a lot of reading in preparation, but they will help you understand the material much better. He's a fair marker, but certainly not an easy one. The course required hard work, but you will get a good grade in return.

He's a really good prof, I thoroughly enjoyed the class, he didn't spout his views like many people said here. I definitely found him to be helpful when I needed assistance, but there was long tutorial readings and a paper you have to do, so I wouldn't call this course an "easy A," but then, this is history.
