Comment:
Lisa is a great instructor who is so in love with algorithms. The course is a tough course and that's why some people see her tough instructor. She is very helpful and always trying to emphasize on concepts and beyond. Her slides are not written by her, but those are very helpful ones. Though you get everything from her explanation.I love her

Comment:
Lisa seems unprepared for lectures - mostly because her slides aren't written by her. She doesn't explain concepts clearly, and her writing is hard to read. She is also a hard marker, and the course evaluation is designed poorly.

Lisa seems nice, she's always willing to help kids out and moves assignment due dates around if enough kids complain. That being said, her written notes on the blackboard are always hard to read and all over the place- her ppt slides aren't created by her so she seems unprepared a lot...

Extremely helpful 1 on 1. Very dedicated. Like the previous poster said - does backtrack in thought sometimes. Really wanted the whole class to do well but unfortunately it is a difficult course. Great professor.

Used another professors lecture slides and it was as if she hadn't looked at them before each lecture. Very disorganized and lots of backtracking in her thoughts. Found it to be extremely difficult to follow what she was trying to say.

This class deals with some of the most complicated material a CPSC student will have encountered to this point. Dr Higham provided me with a good deal of help outside class, and unfortunately I still didn't get it most of the time. If you aren't Wozniak reborn, plan to pray for 50%. Keep an eye on your TAs, they can mark unfairly. Prof will help.

The material is very challenging but the lectures are good. She is very dedicated, doing extra review sessions for midterm/final out of her own time. Not easy, but well worth the effort(required class anyway).

Comment:
Her lectures lacked examples, and I mean zero examples were presented to the class. Her quizzes and tests were ridiculously hard and tested one's ingeniousness as opposed to reasonable lecture material. As a result, I'd say about 80% of students dropped out since they were failing hardcore by mid-semester.

Great instructor! The class was very challenging and she gave us a lot of one-on-one instruction outside class. I learnt a lot in her class, and I would definately take classes with her again.

Very strict but rules are always for others. I wonder if the same rules apply for herself and her favorite students too. She looks as she has principles but somehow she is the head of the double standards
