Comment:
The Professor SUCKS!! He has no interest in the course, he assumes we are PHD students and expects us to learn everything by our own! He marked the midterm and no feedback was provided whatsoever. He does NOT record the lectures unlike other profs. He clearly does not know how to use Dropbox as he asks us to email him the assignments and labs.

His lectures were really oriented towards software/IT industry and research in these fields. Have patience, You can understand his lectures or accent. Topics and concepts are delivered with Inspirational lectures in the advance level course. Tests can be easy if you cover all topics. Very caring with students with problems or suggestions.

Difficult to understand, not specific when it comes to testing points. Lectures are essentially going over MatLab code... wouldn't recommend ENEL503 as is.

As a human being, he's a kind caring person that wants the best for his students. While a great person, he's just a terrible prof. He has developed his own formal methods that are inconsistent and not adopted anywhere outside of class. I'd advise you not to take this course. Learn TLA+ FMs instead which are used and have videos lectures.

A good professor, and very knowledgeable in several areas. He has a vision he is working on, and that is respectable. More people need to be like him. Hard working guy. Willing to help with anything at anytime. Never any hesitation.

Dr. Wang is a good professor. The material he provides is interesting and shows real applications. He emphasizes the importance of all aspects in software development. Before his classes, I though SE was only programming...

Comment:
Prof. Wang is a wonderful teacher, very knowledgeable. It is a little hard to get used to the accent, but it pays off eventually. He is very concerned with the students' progress. He's very helpful and respectful if you go ask him questions. I got bonus marks for pointing out a mistake in the previous final solutions. Very approachable that way.

Very helpful professor if you have questions, open to suggestions from students, and very knowledgeable about the material. Course is very dry and memory based, but Dr. Wang makes a good efford to make it interesting with real world applications.

If you are interested in software engineering, Dr. Wang's classes are a great option. Although it may be difficult to understand some concepts, most of the material covered in class can be applied in large-scale projects. I think this Prof has the knowledge and experience to teach software engineering.

This man is the worst teacher I've had to this date at the University of Calgary. Terrible English, terrible lectures, terrible everything. Seems like he thinks he's famous or something as he has his own name in his notes and useless accreditations after his name on every slide set of notes. All in all, terrible teacher, avoid if possible.

This guy must of written the book on terrible teaching. He teaches his own dead end, diluted research in class in hopes that we will become his followers and bring his ideas into industry. It's all useless. And even if he was teaching something worth knowing, he's so hard to understand that you wouldn't be able to listen to him anyway!

This prof does not teach relevant material and attempts to force his useless research (RTPA) onto the students.

Just copies out everything from the textbook and puts it on his slides, does not actually teach anything useful.

Comment:
Prof is friendly, but teaches useless, proprietary material that is irrelevant in practice, confusing and seemingly redundant. The prof has created this RTPA notation, which is all that is taught, and this is the only person who teaches it, anywhere at any school. Our groups experience so far is that RTPA is useless, time consuming and unnecessary.

You rate this yourself: In the first lecture he showed us a slide with Darwin, Einstein and his own picture on it! He said that Darwin was the father of biology, Einstein was the father of physics and he himself is the father of software engineering! This guy definitely has serious mental problem, aka Hallucination.
