Professor Luengo's Phil100 class was great. It was challenging at times but not because of the structure of the class, the Phil100 material is a little tough to comprehend at first. The way she lays the material out REALLY helps as long as you put forth effort to learn. If you have questions, ASK! She thoroughly explains and helps you understand

I found that giving the assignment for the week on Sunday and having the full week to complete was perfect to work around my other classes. The material was interesting and I only wish we could have been in class for class discussions. This pandemic made it more difficult but she was always available for questions and made the learning more fun.

The way the class is designed is great, she releases the workload every monday morning, its due sunday at 11:59. Do the work, do the forums available for extra credit. Ask her questions! She will help you understand, this is not an easy subject. It will help you learn arguments and how to decipher causalities in arguments. Ask questions!youwillpass

I loved having her. She gives a lot of critical feedback so don't expect an A for doing the minimum. If you do at least some of the readings and post in a couple discussions, it's an easy A.

I took the 8 week course which is a lot more work than the usual 16, so it was a good amount of work weekly. With that being said, it is nothing that you can't sit down and do anytime throughout the day. I left this class with new thinking skills and actually see application to my real life activities. Lots of extra credit if your behind at all.

I took the 8 week class so it was lots of assignments each week. She's a tough grader but you can earn extra credit each week. She doesn't want questions about the class through email, you have to post on a board that the entire class can see which I didn't like.

COVID-19 happened mid semester when I took this class. She was super accommodating, and flexible with class structure. There was a lot of reading, and it is hard, so ask for clarification. She is super caring and lead really thought provoking conversations. If you have a relatively light semester go for it! If you are already stressed maybe wait.

I took her class online during the summer. Taking it online took me less time per week than it would have otherwise. All the learning resources are very well organized and a mix of reading and brain game videos. If you took AP psyc, then this class is a very easy A. She responds to messages and this is the best Online class I have ever taken.

I took the 8 week online class and really enjoyed it. Class was full of watching short interesting videos ,reading and quizzes. It all applied to the real world and was completely manageable for an accelerated class. Professor was great if you had any questions, easily accessible and helped you understand the material. Highly recommend.

Dr. Luengo is great. She responds to any questions, and more importantly, provides feedback to her students about their thoughts on philosophy. She helps you grow as a person and gain better perspective on the world. I wish I could take a class with her every semester.

Dr. Luengo was one of my favorite professors at MiraCosta. She is able to teach the material without a textbook, with homework that was assigned every day that took anywhere between 15 minutes to an hour to complete. Because there is no assigned textbook or reading, missing a class will put you at a disadvantage unless you catch up.

I took her honors philosophy class. There was a lot of reading, participation, and writing. I learned a lot in this class and I am so glad I took it with Dr. Luengo! She's very good at helping you wrap your head around the topics covered and you see improvement on your writing skills by the end of the course. No tests for honors!

Im more of a English/political science person. Never thought I could do math, it just was so difficult to me, but prof luengo made logic very interesting and changed my feelings towards math. This was the most challenging class Ive taken at MiraCosta but I do not regret it, I learned so much and feel very accomplished with the help of prof luengo.

Dr. Luengo is an outstanding professor, her teaching style, level of knowledge, and genuine care for her students all works in the best ways to create a great class. Highly recommend taking this class if you have the chance to.

I will absolutely be taking more classes from this professor. I took her PHIL 100 course online. "Difficult" is not a word I would use to describe the class, but I would use "time-consuming". There is no book so theres many small assignments in leu of that. She is a great professor that makes you think with her quick wit and deep concepts.
