Very confusing and unclear of what he wanted on papers, but wasn't a hard grader. Had 3 papers on easy topics and a few quizzes on grammar but they weren't difficult. Always canceled class. It was annoying that he wasn't clear but he was a really sweet guy and the class was easy to pass.

He is very disorganized and unclear. That being said, I think his heart is in the right place and I can see he likes the subject he teaches. It was not easy to ask questions in class and he would get annoyed somewhat by them. The tests were not that easy but the assignments were a breeze.

Oh boy. I liked Dr. Hanson mainly because he's a goofball. We barely had class but when we did we didn't really do anything in them. We had 3 simple papers to write and I got a B on all of them. Very very easy teacher. He's so clumsy it's hilarious. But overall I didn't really learn anything from him. If you want an easy A I would take him.

This guy is not clear at all and is a really bad professor. He does not teach you anything and does not seem to know what is going on half the time. He told us he would give us a good grade because he wanted a promotion. He is absolutely incompetent. I would highly not recommend this teacher if you are seriously interested in journalism.

While I think he is a funny guy, I definitely do not recommend taking his class. He is extremely hard to understand and most of the time is never clear about what he wants from you. He often cancels class so you can meet with him about papers, which is highly unnecessary.

Prof Hanson has been the worst professor I've ever taken. Quite frankly, he doesn't even know what he wants from students. Each time you ask for clarification, he will describe the project differently. And too many questions makes him angry - he yelled at our class for not understanding something he had never even mentioned let alone taught us

Class is soooo easy, he cancelled like 7 times, only three papers, and four quizzes that we were able to use our books on. his accent is very choppy to the point of incomprehension. When you do have class, it seems like it takes centuries. he reads at a snails pace, but its an easy A

Easy. 3 papers. Open book quizzes, doesn't grade hard. I had the 50 minute class and he only kept us the whole 50 minutes like 5 times. Even though it is easy, he is extremely frustrating. He doesn't answer emails and isn't clear on anything. He takes a while to grade. Always have at least 3 quotes in each essay or you lose a letter grade.

Not even a bad class. You write 3 papers that you can choose to relate to The Blind Side. You have four in class quizzes open book worth 4 points. He takes attendance on random days but you can literally sit on your phone during the whole class. He also has a sense of humor so you can joke around.

He is very disorganized but pretty lenient all the same. Very easy class and the material is interesting. I took his 3-hour class and towards the end he drags it out for no reason. Tests aren't easy but the small papers you have to write are easy. I would take him again.

I should have believed all the reviews on here before taking news writing. I only took it as a prerequisite for news editing but I refuse to take another class with him so it was completely pointless. I did all the work and listened to his critiques and still bombed major papers. I'm almost positive he just gave every student a B in the class. Bad.

Terrible teacher! Do not take him because he does not help you! He would mark answers wrong on my take home test and other students in the class right! He even lost one of my tests! He told me what to write for my major story and then marked it wrong when I handed it in!
