Professor Bouscaren is a nice guy. I took his class with honors. He provided us lecture guidelines and he follows it pretty well during our actual lectures. Print it or look through it on your devices during lecture. For honors, he will ask what you want to do ( I did research Paper and powerpoint). He gives many extra credits as well.

Since he has Parkinsons he cant write so what I had to do in the last few weeks was récord his lectures so thats i could fill out the study sheets/take home tests. If you go over your tests especially the last ones or last one youll get a good grade on final. And if you record from day one every chapter lecture youll also get good grade n tests

He's a little soft-spoken so sit near the front if your hearing is not so good. He's really interesting and has a lot of unique experiences in archelogical/anthropological stuff. He also has a good sense of humor; and he brings interesting stuff to class to show you.

Very interesting material, difficult at times. Great lectures. Accessible, tries his best to answer your questions. Genuinely wants you to understand the material. Realizes the material can be a little tricky. Take home exams were tough but fair. Don't skip, every lecture counts. If you put in the work there is no reason you couldn't earn an A.

I hate biology so I took this class. Am I happy I did. He is a professor that makes you think about our past and how it relates to our future. The book at best is a study guide and will help with take-home tests (which he does if we fall behind). You must show up for class for the lectures. He is a superb lecturer and makes the info interesting.

Test questions are strangely written but otherwise all the material is discussed in class. If you take good notes you probably won't need the text to pass the class (he requires the latest version so they aren't always made available outside purchase). He even occasionally asks specific test questions during lecture, so pay attention.

His lectures are very clear and knows his stuff! He is very helpful and is the kind of teacher that wants you to ask questions. I personally loved his class and teaching skills. Easy and straight to the point. It is interesting at times but also kinda slow, depending on what chapter you're on. Overall a great teacher and fairly easy class.

It's only the second week and each class drags on and on... his lectures are all over the place, he has no visuals to supplement his lectures. This class is just a drag and he enforces pop quizzes, midterms, finals.

Very challenging UC prep course. A lot of hard work. Exams are harder than just reading the book. Great prof, helpful, and cares. Be prepared for lecture from day one until the final. I got an 89 overall and that's exactly what he gave me, a B. Looking back, his class was a defining moment in that every class after this I was ready for.

Prof. Bouscaren is a really cool guy and REALLY knows his stuff. Very mild-mannered and very approachable. However, he's by no means a pushover and WILL fail you if you give zero effort. You will pass his class as long as you try.

Bouscaren is a pretty smart guy, but his class is a little disorganized. He took forever to get assignments back and skips around a lot during lecture. The book isn't mandatory as EVERYTHING is from the lecture. He did cram 3 tests into the last week which was stressful. But there is plenty of extra credit.

Well, He is a nice teacher overall. He talks fast and you have to pay attention to whatever he lectures cos you WILL see that on the test. Study and do all extra credit assignments, you would get an easy A.

I agree with the previous statement. Not a good Prof. Talks non-stop about his own politics and how crappy the US is instead of the subject matter. And, as an example of how his disorganization hits students- a project was due. We all got it back, and I mean, every student, a grade lower because we didn't include a graph. their was no graph reqrm

First of all, I do not know why B. has such good ratings because his class was AWFUL. He is disorganized and all over the place. He rarely writes things down so note taking is difficult. And worst of all, his material is not on the test! I swear he pulls random info out of his a$$ and writes it on the test. Takes him forever to grade stuff. Ugh!

Great Professor. He really likes to lecture, and he knows the material very well. He will teach using stories, and that makes it easier to understand. If you are interested in the subject you will love it by the end of the course. I highly recommend his course. He is flexible if you are late for a test, I saw a few students taking a test late.

He teaches and lectures fast but knows his stuff inside and out. Has a good, open sense of humor and loves the subject. Take notes and go to the classes because he covers a lot of information.Other then that, great teacher.
