His class slides, lecture slides, exams are all terrible which were not helpful for study at all. I recommend not taking a course with him and if you cannot avoid it, you should find a good teacher from Youtube to learn something instead of concentrates on the class.

Very good at responding to emails and helping you out if you're stuck. The material could have been presented more effectively, while other instructors have shown laudable effort in creating online content, he did not.

I found his lectures difficult to follow and dragged out, which was made more difficult by some pretty illegible printing. The homework assignments are decently challenging and very time consuming. The class website had some decent notes and resources. Overall, I ended up learning most of the class by myself, online, and with the textbook.

Lectures are terrible online. Couldn't understand anything or read any of his notes. Taught the course entirely to my self.

A horrible online teacher, I'm not sure what he is like in person but I strongly recommend not taking his online class. His lectures are the most difficult thing to pay attention too and the notes he posts are abysmally written and illegible. The test aren't bad and the homework is easy. Do not take this prof.

If you can avoid it DO NOT take this class online. His online lectures are painful, you'll often find yourself working on other homework in the middle of class. He is quick to respond to emails if you have questions and homework is good.

Lectures were very hard to follow and dry. Used the textbook and chegg to get a brief grasp of what is going on. Good thing is that midterms and finals very similar to previous years and helpful to study.

Solid prof. Lectures may be hard to follow but relevant examples are done on the board. Homework is also long but doable. Dimopoulos was caring to extend homework assignments and even gave students an opportunity to replace their midterm grade by that of their final exam.

Comment:
Dimopoulos has seemingly been around for a long time and is falling out of touch with his students. His lectures are comprised of extremely rushed slides, poorly presented theory, and long examples where both the question itself and end goal is usually unclear. Read the textbook and take time to understand the concepts, the course gets hard fast.

Don't know what changed my the previous year, but he does not care about this class at all. Will not give you any help, and the homework will take at least 15 hours an assignment

Nikitas's lectures are clear and have enough examples to help you figure out what's going on. He gives good explanations when you ask him.

Really nice guy, and teaches 250 well. Lots of examples done on the board. Went to his office hours a couple of times and he is very caring. Long assignments, but the midterm was easy

He's an ok prof, but this course is no joke! Defs the most work I've ever put into the class. The project is a ton of work, but you learn a lot. Do not take this course if you have a full course load! Didn't do the homework since it was worth collectively %2 and the material was not on the midterm or final.

Dimopoulos is a really great prof who actually cares about his students succeeding. The tutorial was HORRIBLE and he would get very rushed at times in lecture, as well as he did not really teach in a logical or comprehensive way. However, very approachable with any questions and you would not lose marks on midterms or final due to algebra errors.

Comment:
The nature of the material is boring, a lot of series of equations. The homework was done through the terrible mastering engineering software by Pearson. I'm satisfied with the way the class was taught, and the teacher cares about whether you learn or not.

He is one of the nicest, most personable professors I've had. The material is hard and takes extra work to understand it; it was hard for me to get a solid grasp on the 2nd half of the material in the lectures alone. His midterm and final was very fair with no surprises. He also has a great (albeit subtle) sense of humor!

Where to start, the class almost has nothing to do with the midterm. The Final exam was a few examples and mostly composed of old finals. Project can be a nightmare, many hours spent in the lab trying to finish it.

His lectures flow really nicely (something that is a rarity in engineering at UVic) and he's very willing to help students understand the material. He marks pretty hard, but his questions usually follow what was covered in class. One of the best profs I've had in this department.

Adept professor. However, his deliberations/ examples do not reflect current industry standards. In addition, he has a low-deep voice that puts you to sleep.
