One of my favorite profs at Eckerd. Incredibly charismatic, gives good critiques, and loves poetry. Expect to learn a lot, read a lot, and write a lot. He says the funniest things in class and has an amazing southern accent. Be sure to buy the textbook - he'll give quizzes on the readings.

Honestly was not a fan, I don't know why he's so adored on here. I found his lectures extremely dull, and a lot of his assignments arbitrary (will make you turn in several handwritten rough drafts for every assignment, like really?). Really rigid about grading, I got a D and I tried. He's a nice guy but not a good professor for me.

Honestly Capstone was disappointing. Standards were nonexistent and we spent so much time talking about the assigned texts that student manuscripts (the whole point of all of it) was an after thought. It was frustrating and useless. Prof Ward is great in other subjects. Avoid if you can for Capstone.

This gentleman is a good man who knows how to work with students as a true teacher. I knew little about poetry and cared even less. He managed to help me understand and get through something, I care for as much as math. True he is easy on the eyes.

Professor Ward is amazing. He's very passionate and knowledgeable about poetry. He has a gorgeous southern accent that will melt your butter! He can be flighty when it comes to correspondence so bugging him at his office works better than e-mail. Write down his "wardisms." They are gems.

He is a very good teacher, but sometimes has a hard time telling the more opinionated students to shut up. Everyone at Eckerd should take his poetry intro class. However I am a bit su****ious of him. I think he is a very pessimistic person and cares more for words than for people, but that is to be expected of a poet, I guess.

Professor Ward is one of the best teachers at Eckerd! He does tend to go off on tangents while teaching, but he is also interested in what the students have to say.

The southern accent is definitely hot--I often feel the need to fan myself when he speaks Latin (fairly often). Aside from turning students into puddles, he is an incredibly sincere and generous prof. He's more interested in seeing that his students really learn rather than just agree with him and (unlike someone) isn't egotistical and pretentious.

He's funny, he's cute, and he talks about sex a lot (not to mention his southern accent). We go off topic a lot, and that's great. Some effort is required, but not like you would but into a science class. Ward is really cool and very open to your ideas and opinions. If you can take a class with him, do it.

AMAZING human being and a great resource on... well, everything. Make use of him and be sure to take at least one class with him. If he ever goes back to London, make sure you're with him - that was the most productive semester I ever had!
