NO LECTURE!!! Might as well have taken online. Good grade, but didn't learn a thing. Pointless if you want to go further than 110.

He got his tenure so he doesn't really teach his students. He is extremely unorganized and explains everything in a confusing way that will confuse you more than you already were. He will not answer your questions even if you are confused because you should already know the content that he just displayed. Don't take him if you want to learn.

If I had one word to say to any student considering taking his course it would be "RUN". It blows my mind that this guy considers himself a teacher. He does nothing for his students! He's lazy, unkempt, and rude. How can an institution that prides itself on student success employ this guy?

He is by far the worst professor I have ever had. I advise you not to have him as a teacher. He does not lecture and does not use a textbook. He will make you work in groups of 4 and have you figure it out all by yourself. Also he does not upload grades and when you email him to ask for your grade he will ignore it. BEWARE!!

Lecture wasn't really lecture. If you like group work versus being in a lecture, this is a good option. Unfortunately, I didn't learn much from his POGIL method. Labs took too long to set up so the skills exercise for experiments were often cut short.

Comment:
Completely terrible experience for chemistry. We all have to do group work called POGIL which was very frustrating because a lot of people didn't understand the material or people were super lazy. You have to learn everything yourself, there are absolutely no lectures and his explanations just confused me way more. I dreaded going to class.

He believes in POGIL facilitated learning, which is a fancy way of saying you're teaching yourself and your classmates all of the material. If you plan on taking more chemistry, I highly recommend another professor where you will actually learn the material.

Avoid him at all costs. I got a B in his class but barely learned anything. He does not teach you and you have to learn everything on your own. I am in general chemistry 2 right now and I have to try to relearn a lot of the stuff cause he didn't bother explaining it. If you really want to learn it, take it somewhere else or with someone else.

Took summer class, you have to work for it. But he helps with giving practice test and homework with answers so try doing those and if you understand the homework you will do well on the test.

If you take a Chemistry class instructed by Mark Yeager, be ready to do most of the learning on your own. If you are like me, you learn best with lectures, which he doesn't do. A lot of group work and chances for easy points, but a lot of material covered in class is not on the tests.

Seems like an alright guy that knows Chemistry, but as for his TEACHING abilities? Easily the worst teacher I've ever had. Avoid at ALL costs. I'm not a young kid that slacks off either. I'm a 27 y/o respectful student w/ all A's.

This teacher is by far the WORST teacher I've had! He almost never taught a lecture. He had us complete activities from a workbook made from a learning strategy promoted called POGL; totally confusing and useless. When attempts to answer a question, he confuses people even more. Avoid this guy if you want to be prepared for chem 110.

I would not recommend taking this class! So far, I am 3 and a half weeks into his 6 week summer semester CHEN 108, Preparatory Chemistry, class. At the beginning, it seemed like it would be a decent class. But it seems like as soon as the add/drop period passed, he dropped the ball. No longer posts office hours, nor does he resond to emails.

He can be very hard to get ahold of and I got the impression he didn't really care about our online class. But the class isn't really all that hard; all exams q's are STRAIGHT FROM THE LECTURE NOTES, no curve balls! The final is a little challenging but you get to bring a massive notecard. He drops the lowest exam score and hw points are a freebie

Doesn't show up for office hours, doesn't return emails, forgets to post lecture and exams, hasn't graded a SINGLE exam since the beginning of the semester. I have no idea what my grade is. Some exams had incorrect "right answers" in the key. Other then that, there is potential to learn enough but you must be diligent and an independent studier

Online Chem, so I should've expected it to be difficult. No extra credit, that's fine. Tests on material not in the textbook nor online resources. Never responded to a single email. Not very personable on class forum. Terrible office hours (9pm-10pm? ...). So disorganized, missed several deadlines to open sections of the course. DO NOT TAKE.

His class was ok. He uses a different type of learning style. If you are not into a teacher lecturing for 2 hrs and prefer to do group reasoning with a work book- then his class is for you. Very nice professor and is clearly passionate about chemistry and seeing students succeed. Tests are very reasonable but his class requires personal study time.

Awesome teacher. Class was simple and even if you dont do extremely well on tests, which were tough, you still have a chance to get an A as long as you keep up with all your homework.
