Comment:
Exams make up a large chunk of your grade, so be aware of that, but they're generous with grading. There's a large semester-long group project but everyone got a 100% in the end. It seems harder while you're taking the course but looking back, it wasn't too difficult. Study for tests and follow the group project criteria and you should be good

assigned groups to work with for a semester paper, and there were some groups of 4 and some groups of 2. odd. spent one class in the middle of the semester to assign us a seating chart, then revoke it. lectures were outdated. the two tests did not seem in line with class content. she was kind, but only presented one-sided views in class.

simply put, dr osterbur is a horrible professor. she does not excel in any aspect of teaching, is out of touch with reality, and doesnt seem to care about her job. she would consistently cancel classes or gloss over important information and dismiss us early. shes not very receptive to students asking for help either. avoid her and her classes.

She is set in her ways and has not updated her lectures since 2009. She will only grade your papers off of small details such as references and formatting and will not even look at your content. She uses the same exams year after year and doesn't proofread them. In her lectures, she spends half the time claiming facts that are unsupported by data.

Comment:
The class is very boring since the lectures are straight forward and you can just read off the material. The grading criteria for the rough draft is not very clear and she takes off lots of points for minor things. However, she gives points back on the final draft. The exams seem to not fully follow the lectures though, so beware. Nice professor.

Participation is a grade. Honestly, her lectures are boring, and she knows that very few pay attention in her class. She's very sweet about it though and knows that students are often stressed. She's a nice person. If you do the work she asks for, you'll make an A.

Comment:
Dr. Osterbur is just okay IMO. I like her enough but she taught two different classes back to back and assumed everyone takes both. She always said things lie "We will talk about this in Human Development" but not everyone was in that class. Her lectures are boring but the class is not hard. She is super nice and not a bad choice.

I enjoyed Dr. Osterbur a lot. She cares a lot about her students and wants everyone to do well. You honestly don't have to show up but she's super sweet and will help you if you reach out.

Comment:
This class was hard just because Osterbur would move really quickly through important material, and then just ramble on about random things for the rest of class. However, the tests are based on the lectures-- DO NOT BUY THE BOOK- and she doesn't record lectures or have useful PowerPoints, so pay attention!!

She really cares about her students and you can tell she's passionate about what she teaches. There are participation questions during class, so you need to show up. She uses really clear outlines that you can fill in as she's lecturing. Her expectations are very clear as well.
