DO NOT RECOMMEND. He has by far the worst experience I have had since I started GCU. He will only find ways to bring your GPA down and make you fail his class. I was failing an easy class because of the way he grades assignments. If you have him, immediately change your instructor or you will end up like me dropping out of the class

Do not take this class with Dr. Cruz. Not only he is a tough grader, he is always looking at how he can snatch points from you and bring your GPA down. I had an A grade in all my classes in the past with 4.0 GPA until my academic counselor assigned me to his class. Instructions were not clear and he could give you an F grade without any fear.

Instructions for assignments are unclear. The definition for a "substantive post" seems to be fluid and changes daily. An incredibly tough grader for a 100 level class. Assignments take over a week to be graded and feedback is limited making it impossible to apply changes to improve your work in a timely manner.

Not a good teacher, assignments aren't clear. Tough grader, seems like he skims when he grades so you'll either get 100% on an assignment, a 50%, or no credit. Participation points are the same he doesn't grade quickly enough to be sure all your posts are substansive before the due date but if he deems one of your 6 aren't up to par you'll get a 0.

Get ready to guess what actually needs to be done for your assignments, because most of the time the instructions are unclear. Message him if you have any questions because he WILL grade you on things that aren't on the rubric or syllabus. Oh yeah, his syllabus is just a copy of the online path, nothing else.

Dr. Cruz was a great professor. Just be aware that if you have to skip a DQ or if youre short on any participation, youll get zeros. He doesnt give credit for low point assignments under any circumstances. Hes a great teacher, though! Very active in the discussion forum. Would definitely take again.
