Trust me! If you want to get comfortable with 100 level math courses, choose this prof!!! I took his courses in 2019 (mat223) and 2020(mat136) and he really tried to help everyone learn something. It was a pity that he did not teach mat102 in my first year. For 200 level courses, go for him and you will never regret it.

Jon is literally the best prof I've ever had at UTM. I've had him for MAT223, MAT232 , now MAT236. He makes sure students understand concepts clearly before moving on, and is always willing to adjust his teaching for students' understanding. Super caring and one of the few profs who care about their students. I would absolutely recommend his class!

He is one of the few professors left that actually truly care about whether or not you understand something in class. He goes the extra mile for his students and explains things in an easy way to understand. You only realize how great of a professor he is when you compare him to other professors.

professor herman was funny in an awkward way, lol. but he always gave tons of examples for each concept and made sure everybody understood the material before moving on. would definitely take another course with him!

Does his best to help students understand the material and makes sure that everyone gets it before moving forward. Very patient and explains stuff as many times as required. Lectures are fun as prof Herman interacts with students on a friendly level. Will definitely choose him as the prof for future classes.

Jon Herman was probably my favourite part in this dreadful course. Hilarious guy who is always trying to keep up with whatever terminology his students are using. He even played games with us on the last day of classes. Despite a few hiccups in class, he got through the content. Overall if you have to take this awful course, do it with prof Herman!

Prof Herman makes every lecture very interesting, and is able to explain every concept in multiple ways. Every single professor makes mistakes, but prof Herman is quick to catch them and change it, and make sure everyone is understanding the concept. If someone doesnt get something, he will make sure they are up to speed before moving on.

Great professor for MAT223 (Linear Algebra), lecture style is good and I found myself encouraged to participate during the class. Lecture speed is good, he doesn't rush through everything, and everyone has a chance to keep up.

Professor Jonathon was a great professor. He would always put up a lecture outline each lecture, and go over a ton of examples as he taught. He would also stop frequently to ask if every1 was keeping up. The tests and exam were based off of lectures & practice problems and he was always willing to go the extra mile to help you out. 110% recommended

Arguably the worst professor I've ever had the displeasure of having during my 3 years at UTM. There hasn't been a lecture without him making a string of mistakes in his lectures, erasing nearly EVERYTHING and then re-writing things in parts, confusing the whole class. Horrid, bland lectures. If you have him, I hope you got YT and google on you.
