Not very helpful. I was sick one class and told her in advance and she was very passive aggressive about my access to the missed material. In class she can also get butt hurt and snippy if there's a poor turn out.

While Brenda's lectures can be a bit scattered at times and she isn't always the best at answering your questions, she knows her stuff and she is a fairly easy marker. If you show up and study hard you can do well.

She is vague in regard to her expectations, and very specific in what she's looking for while marking. Seriously regret taking this course with her.

exams are a breeze if you attend class consistently and take down the notes on the power points. Very little reading required, not worth buying the textbook. A few assignments which take some effort, but not super difficult. Brenda is really good at going over the notes and explaining concepts. Overall a good class, easy with a light course load.

Brenda is a very nice person and knows how to teach. However, when I would ask for help outside of class she would be very unhelpful and rude. Yet she was open to you asking questions in class to help understand the subject better. She is a fairly decent marker, but makes you work for your grade.

I enjoyed Brenda's class a lot. Attendance at least 80 percent of the time is mandatory if you wish to do well. I didn't buy the textbook, and therefore did not read it and still was able to get an A. Just pay attention in class!

Brenda not only knows her stuff but seems to enjoy teaching and will take the time to do so. She presents material in a clear concise manner. Her tests are something you must be prepared to study a bit for, they are not horribly hard. Brenda is a teacher I would highly recommend.

Brenda is my favourite teacher at Camosun. She does make you work for your grade, so it is important to attend all classes and study throughout the semester. Anth 250 was the most difficult course I have taken yet at Camosun, and seems almost it should be two classes, but it was a great class with a great teacher!

Comment:
The most difficult class in the CJ program by far. Although she is a good teacher, her bone identification test worth 25% was crudely done; I studied 60+ hours and lost 3 letter grades because of the extremely short 1 min time intervals to identify a ton of different bones. Overall a bit hardcore for a 2nd year ANTH course. This class = 2 classes.

Brenda's lectures are clear, articulate and put together well with clear power point slides. This class uses a good mix of the textbook, and content that Brenda supplements for topics that are not covered in depth in the textbook. Assignments are easy and evenly spaced out throughout the semester. Read the text & attend lecture and you're fine.

Brenda is amazing, she's so helpful, and so clear. She's organized and doesnt assign pointless assignments. You'll have labs (easy A) a midterm lab quiz, a midterm, a final, and a final lab quiz (or case report in 250, which is so fun, and easy just takes time) I felt really confident going into all tests, "A" on all, and I'm not a genius!

HORRIBLE TEACHER! Doesn't clarify. Doesn't follow the textbook. Thinks that clarifying a question after class is "tutoring." She's a very cold teacher. Looks are deceiving, she may have a smile, but it's just put on. I am very disappointed, and I feel I've wasted my valuable time and money taking this class.

Awesome teacher.I do always get a substantially lower mark on exams as I expect upon handing in the exam, I am learning a lot and she has kept me interested in the course material. She has a lot of field work experience and I look forward to her lectures. If you stay on top of your readings, and consistently study, you'll do alright. Don't slack!

One of my favourite professors. I took 104 with her and now I'm taking 260 and I really love both classes. It's true you have to go to class and read the text to do well on exams but she's a fair marker and very nice.

Interesting class, wonderful teacher. She was such a good lecturer. Really knows her stuff. However the tests are really hard, and she is a tough marker. A lot of what you study isn't on the test, but something she mentioned once in passing will be. Very specific answers are required as well. Read your text!! You won't get a good mark without it.

Brenda is a great teacher. Her lectures are extremely organized and easy to follow, and she is very approachable. Be sure to come to class, as what she teaches in her lectures will be on the exams. She is a fair marker, and be sure to study the notes and you can do very well. Textbook is good as well. Study, come to class and you are set to go.
