just a weird class? entirely lecture-based but I felt like I didn't actually learn anything-- just kind of ranted about his life for an hour. super annoying forum postings and very unclear grading criteria-- also takes forever to grade anything and therefore I never knew what my grade was. funny and understanding but also loud and random.

Prof McCann is a great professor. He is a great lecturer and makes everything super fun and easy to understand. He knows his stuff and is a really nice guy. Wish I could take his class again. Workload is light, a couple papers, final paper, and heavy forum based participation. 5/5 would recommend everyone to take him!

Professor McCann is very nice and makes the class enjoyable, but he is very unclear about how he grades. There are only a few papers and he doesn't tell you your grade. If you ask him or email him he will tell you your grade. The class is good for an upper com elective.

I highly recommend taking Colin, he is super funny and very flexible. The midterm and final are essays and as long as you answer the question and put effort in, he will give u a good grade. He is one of my favorite teachers and he truly cares about his students and their well being.

McCann might be my favorite professor ever. He is laugh out loud funny and you never know what you're going to get when you walk into the classroom. His attendance policy is chill, but it'd be absolutely stupid to skip this class. Midterm and final are take-home essays and there are a couple of other papers. No tests/quizzes, one project.

By far my favorite professor at Marist! If you get any chance to have him as a teacher take his class! He was so funny and really kept us awake for an 8Am. He cares alot for his students and actually helped me get a sense of direction in communications

If you have to take Intro to Comm, take it with Colin McCann. It's such an engaging class for an 8am, and the material is extremely straightforward. He really looks out for his students and develops solid relationships with them. He's a great guy and professor, and I've learned so much not just about communications, but life in general from him.

Colin is a great professor and I would highly recommend taking his Intro to Comm class! He does not take attendance and pretty much just lectures the whole time. He is very funny and entertaining especially for an 8 am. Also no tests or quizzes just a few short response papers and a take-home midterm and final.

I liked him as a person he is really funny and try to make financial classes. As a teacher he explain concepts related to his life, the course is based on theories and you might get confused. You don't have to take notes but I advise you to make your owns from the book to actually relate them to what he says and keep in the course track.

He's literally HILARIOUS. Extremely energetic and passionate about his job and his relationship with his students. Classroom is a relaxed environment, mostly discussion-based and students don't receive a lot of homework, and midterm is take-home. Favorite professor thus far at Marist!!! Love him!

Applies concepts from book to class discussions, makes a good environment for free discussions. This allows you to make your own examples to apply to his intercultural communications theories.

Great guy. Takes the time to get to know each student personally, which is really nice. You barely have to do any work for the class, just show up and participate. Take home final and take home midterm, and 2 or 3 other very short papers, and a group project. Makes 8am more bearable! TAKE HIM!
