I almost fell asleep in all of the lectures. To be fair, English 100 is not an interesting course, but the lectures were dry and disorganized. Could have been made more interesting. Tough grader.

Very tough grader. Doesn't give clear criteria and splices grade for the smallest mistakes like bad citation method or spelling. She has an opinion and doesn't really bend or take anyone else's... Her lectures tend to be long and quite boring. Also, gives surprise pop quizzes frequently

Very helpful and willing to give feedback if you meet in the writing center. Some classes might feel a little exhausting and tiresome, but ultimately an informative class.

Dr. Westcott is by far my favorite prof. She always comes to class with energy and she is a really sweet woman. She hates it when students don't succeed and she really tries to make sure that no one fails. If she is unavailable, she makes sure the UTA's are to help. Make sure you buy the book, it's pretty important for the course.

To be honest, I zoned out all class and only did the readings once. I barely participated in class discussions. My essays were rushed and not that much effort was put into them, and in the end I got a B+. She's not hard.

I had Andrea for English 103 and got a B without trying but I know I would've gotten an A easily if I had put more effort. Although many people felt she was a hard marker, I think she enjoys originality and competitive thinking. She loves participation and she takes note of it. Very resourceful and has an awesome variety of reads in class. A+

Dr. Westcott may appear disorganized but there is a beauty to this chaos. If you go with the flow and actively participate in her classes, you will be rewarded. She does give A's if you put the effort and show interest (and study!). I specifically took this class because she was teaching it and it was a highlight of my year.

Andrea is a hard marker. Her classes are pointless and useless. I hate everything about English because of her. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT take her class. It will not be easy. It will not be fun. Consider yourself warned!

Comment:
Andrea is the worst English prof on campus by far. She is not clear and hypocritically in her marking. "She clearly states that no one deserves an A" that statement is true. She never gives an A and if she does it's cause you're lucky. Avoid her class at all costs, she ruined all English courses for me.

Had andrea for english and women studies. She is very passionate about what she teaches and if you show up, do the work and participate in class discussion it's not hard to get a good mark. She is disorganized but it doesn't take away from the classes much. I hated English before her class, now I like taking it.

She is a really good teacher. The mini-assignments along the way were an excellent way to correct major and minor errors before the final. Very open-minded and reasonable.

Comment:
She's a good prof and a nice person. Not the best teacher I've ever had but definitely not the worst. For the essays she is pretty clear about what she wants, but her small assignments are a little ambiguous. I am confused by some of the other comments because she never seemed anything like a radical feminist...

Andrea was a great prof. She was open to all opinions and really was passionate about English. Would definitely recommend taking this class with her. She's a very fair marker, she didn't have too many assignments. Not an overload of reading either. For someone who only took it because I had to, I enjoyed it as much as I could for an english class.

Terribly boring teacher, though she is nice as a person. She doesn't give out A's, even though you deserve it. She marks very hard, don't expect to do well in her class, even if you are a good student. She takes off marks for everything. I am a lit student, and I always do well, but the best I could do in her class was a B+

This class was very disappointing. Although Andrea is a nice person and her class is relatively easy, I felt that her lectures were a waste of time and so boring. The books were great though.

she is pretty though on marking the midterm and assignments! no matter how much you talk in her class she thinks you didn't talk enough resulting in getting a low class eval.
