He's a good professor. But is a tough grader with the homework assignments. There are discussions but you must write a good discussion not just slack off cause he will deduct points and lots of points. You do need the book since there are assignments directly from it. One project, 3 exams.

He goes over different topic each week, even though attendance is not mandatory, show up if you want to learn about marketing research. His exams are heavy for sure but if you come to lecture and listen to him, you will do fine in the exam (2), one group research project, and labs. Would take him again.

Dr. Petrosky is one of the best professors I've ever had. The class was difficult for me and a lot of the students, but he does everything to ensure that everyone who tries passes the class. He is also the department head and has bent over backwards to help substitute classes, waive a class, etc. before he even knew who I was.

I took this class during the winter and have to say I liked it. The work load is easy if you read a little and look at the lectures. The professor is quick to answer questions and gives you plenty of time to complete the work. Winter is only 3 weeks and he opened up the course work two weeks before the semester started.

Extremely unorganized with information and posting on black board (ie. posts from 2010 semesters in 2017). Take good notes as lectures are hard to understand without his input. Kind of a nut but really knows his stuff and also understands that this class is for undergrads and that most students have no idea whats going on.

This was a very tough class but i did learn a lot in his class. 2 test (midterm and Final) lots of lab assignments but never had any homework he gives you plenty of time to finish in lab. One big group project due that the end and honestly wasn't that hard he prepares you very well throughout the entire semester for the group project.

This class can be easy, IF you attend class. He doesn't require attendance and never takes roll, however, if you want to do well in this class I highly suggest you attend all lectures. He gives a lot of information during lectures and explains everything very well, therefore it is extremely beneficial if you attend all lectures. ATTEND ALL LECTURES

Yes his tests are absolutely brutal. Yes the group project takes a lot of time, but Dr. Petrosky is the clearest marketing teacher out of all of them. He explains concepts very well, and makes complicated stats formulas seem simple. His lectures and tests are directly out of the textbook, so if you miss something in class, always refer to the book.

He's quirky, creative, and funny everything you would expect from a marketing professor! Overall this class is interesting and gives you knowledge you can apply in the marketing field. Make sure your group stays on top of assignments and TRY. If you are lazy you shouldn't expect a good grade. Study and you should ace exams. Great class.

I've read several bad reviews about Professor Petrosky, but I took him last semester and have nothing bad to say about him at all. I took an online class and he always answers emails in a timely manner and is willing to help. His PP presentations were always relative to the material and helped to clarify the book as well as homework assignments. A+

Very interesting class and professor. Online quizzes were a bit more challenging than expected, but the extra credit assignments can make up lost points, project was very helpful in understanding how to create a marketing plan for an actual business. I got a lot out of this class and feel I understand marketing more. I would recommend.

Dr. Petrosky tests you on material that is not covered in any lecture. The test was extremely hard (the avg. score was 55%) There are 2 simple hw assignments but they are worth 5% of your grade. The marketing plan is alot of work but easy. The case discussion (participation) is graded on quantity not quality of comments (I tested the theory).

I realize I'm the only unhappy one, so here is a 2010 update on Petrosky. Awful! We had a quiz every class, the highest average score was 65%, so figure it out. He's not willing to help. He has a poor grading system on papers/presentations as if he doesn't want anybody to get an A. It's a shame that CSU Stan is left with such horrible profs.

What an awesome professor! Finally, I actually learned something at Stan! He's got a unique, witty sense of humor and wants his students to do well. Grades easily and is just overall refreshing. Can't wait to take him next semester.

Grades mainly on participation. Doesn't base the participation on relavance to marketing, so students will say anything to get participation points. Don't miss class or you will be graded down on participation. Needs to come up w/ a better way to evaluate students, participation isn't a good indicator of how students prepare and absord the subject.

Has students conduct class and present Marketing cases. Heavily grades on participation of the class while students present and it turns into a competition for a participation points during presentation. He gives points for any comment and you will have some students that just say off the wall stuff that doesn't even warrant recognition.
