He is simply one of the most interesting, intelligent, compassionate, aware, and engaging individuals I have ever met. Strongly recommend him in any class. He is an incredible human being as well as a man of integrity. It can be difficult, but there is nothing unfair about his teaching. He challenges and appreciates an engaged audience.

Jerry is AWESOME! An intelligent, engaging, down-to-earth prof with a fascinating history of acting & theatre which he brings to this course. His majors seminar is such a nice break compared to other ENGL courses - the readings & assignments are very short; discussion is casual; you get to go to plays; deadlines are flexible; easy marker! TAKE IT

A good prof. Granted his acting career makes him extra interesting. The format of this course does not actually require much professor instruction. Good in inspiring discussion. And for the love of God, don't be stupid like some girl in my class and call him an "extra". How lame and disrespectful.

Good professor. Enjoyed the class. Although he did include several abstract plays that were garbage. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the class. He is somewhat picky on grammar, so beware. He writes reviews for the Province on theatre and he is in tons of films, check him out on imdB. Really interesting guy!

Jerry is a very good prof. He is a hard marker. But if you come to class and do the readings there shouldn't be any problems. There are no surprise questions on exams. He might appear as this tough unfriendly guy at first, but once you get to know him he is very kind, nice, and helpful. And he knows what he's talking about!!!

Without a doubt, the worst prof I've had. Extremely closed minded and so full of himself he dismisses out of hand any comments that he does not already agree with. Class discussion dwindled to all but the most naive. His class will actually decrease your intelligence. Avoid at all costs.

Jerry is incredibly insightful about theatre, and I found his ideas to be very thought-provoking. He's also very amiable and lenient when it comes to due-dates, and realizes that people have lives. I really enjoyed his class, and would recommend him to anyone who enjoys a thoughtful prof who stimulates debate in class, and knows his subject well

Without a doubt the best professor I have ever had. Worth taking him even if you're not enormously interested in the class. If he did a class with another collection of plays I would take it in a heartbeat.

An expert in theatre and writing, Wasserman will provide interesting, in-depth lectures and rigorous evaluations of papers. I learnt a great deal from his insights on how to improve my writing. He is reasonable, helpful and fun to listen to. Reccommended.

Jerry is a VERY hard marker and sometimes unfair due to his lack of clarity in his assignment descriptions. His tests are weighted so it is easy for him to mark and very hard to do well since they are highly fact based. He is however highly knowledgable and interesting to learn from since he is so well known and experienced.

although he expects his students to be intelligent, he is open to creativity. He can tell when you ****, but honest disagreement, backed by facts, is always okay. People have complained about his grading, but I learned more from him than I thought possible, and two years later I still remember most of it. Amazing and talented.

Jerry class was one of my best classes. It's true, he is a horribly hard marker. At the same time, the most I ever learned about English was from him. If not for him, my essay skills right now would be bad - real bad. Very intersting as a teacher and has a good course. Cheers to Jerry.
