Very Interesting Prof make sure to pay attention to his words not just his slides, not all the information on the midterm, and the exam will be in written format but verbal so pay attention in class and take good notes, and you'll do well!

No clear topic during lectures which leaves you to guess what the goal of the course is. Constantly jumping from one thing to another and then never mentioning it again. There were questions on tests that were never talked about in lectures and seemingly put there as random trivia. Seems like a nice guy just not very clear.

This man never tells you what you need to know and half of the time the material on tests is not on the review and you are left blindsided sitting in the middle of Convocation hall choking back tears. I thought classics was going to be fun but instead I feel like I am Julius Caesar being stabbed 37 times. I hate this class please don't attend.

Was never clear about what to study and included things on tests that were never discussed in class. Did not make it clear how our final mark would be graded. Hes a nice guy who clearly loves classics but he doesnt teach it very well.

He's funny, but there's a bit of arrogance to him, and I don't think he's super helpful outside of class. Make sure your papers are well researched and defended because this guy knows his stuff and will call you out on anything made up. He loves his work, though, and he plays the trumpet, so he's not all bad. Interesting material.

Robertson is very comical and funny in his lectures and makes ancient history fun. Not the greatest at answering emails and being fair to students when they need to make up marks because they have to miss class for family stuff. Likes to test on things that he doesn't give you in the notes and so it's hard to study for tests. Notes are put online.

Nice guy. Makes the lectures interesting and funny. Grading scheme is fair. His tests aren't too hard as long as you study. Overall I would definitely suggesting taking this prof.

Great prof, has an enormous amount of love for classics. Very entertaining and engaging lectures, but can be a little rough marker on essays. He makes up for this fact by having laughably easy mid-terms/ exams. Overall a excelletn prof, i look forward to taking his classes in the future.

Dr. Robertson loves classics so much and has so much enthusiasm for the topic, which is great, especially for an introductory course. He's a very hard marker and expects a lot from his students, so this course is really what you make of it. Will give you chances to redeem yourself (especially on essays).

He was very scattered and would make a lot of references about the Ancient Greeks that no one would understand. I think he assumes that everyone knows Greek history front and back. He marks hard and if he doesn't like what you've written he'll fail you. His exam was a three hour exam crunched into two. He makes me hate classics and I love classics.

Honestly, I loved Classics before this class and was really excited for it. But I asked him for help multiple times on essays and still failed them after he edited them and told me what to change. His exams are brutal, and his assignments don't always make a lot of sense. He is really enthusiastic but lectures can be hard to follow.

I had him for two courses six years ago now, and still think back fondly. Going in I had ZERO interest in Classics- four years later and I had completed a Classics major! Fantastic lecturer and professor. Recommended to all, even if you have no initial interest in the material! He'll change that.

I was interested in this subject until I went to the class. This class was shared with another professor and it made for a complicated and frustrating environment. Marks hard and there is a lot of reading required.

Totally looks like Conan O'Brian. I would highly recommend every first year to take one of his classes. He is hilarious and makes history fun. However, he is a hard marker so I would avoid higher level classes with him.

Dr. Robertson is extremely engaging and got me interested in Classics. However, I went to see him during office hours and he was unhelpful and condescending. It's possible he was just having a bad day, though.
