Cole is a reliable professor. He explains quite well during lectures, but it would be great if he explained things even further. So utilize asking questions and typing/writing down some things that he says because his notes are very simple. His exams are worded pretty well nonetheless.

Cole really cared about what he was teaching and you could tell. He taught using fill-in-the-blank pdfs, and no textbook. His multiple choice questions were fairly easy (sometimes including trickier calculations) but his exams include long answers where he's looking for something specific- make sure you studied well

Cole was a great teacher who cared about his students and did his best to make the subject matter relatable and understandable, explaining it multiple times if necessary. The focus was to understand and apply concepts rather than just memorizing information.

Comment:
Cole was difficult in his marking process. He uses unclear wording in his multiple choice, commonly leading to confusion. 85% of our class got one question wrong (indicating his lack of clarity in the question) yet he was adamant that it was worded well. I didn't find he sympathized with our concerns as students trying to navigate online learning.

This is a good example of a professor that designs their course with 1 main goal: how do I minimize the amount of effort I have to put into teaching this course? Shows up to class half awake and drones out a list of definitions. He expects you to interpret his question exactly how he meant them, regardless of what was actually asked.

Cole was probably one of the worst profs I have ever had. He was teaching an agriculture course with little agricultural background. He lacked an ag perspective on the assignments and exams to make the course useful. His comments on things were very rude and he gave zero guidelines of what he wanted. Then took 9 weeks to mark every thing.

Has a lot of dad joke but his grading criteria are unclear at best and misleading at worst. Short answer questions really get you - he is looking for a specific answer despite the question seeming to invite multiple perspectives. Not terrible, but a lot of the class struggled because he wasn't always clear about things. Easy concepts tho!

He makes this course harder than it should be. He marks the exams in a way to fail you. Majority of people in this class felt the same, expressed our concern to him, but unfortunately he did not even bother to consider our concern. Remote class in pandemic is hard by itself but he managed it worse.

This prof is not good at all. Unfortunately, he marks to make you fail, he wants a specific answer. He designed questions with bad wording. He is the most stubborn proof, I have ever taken. Please do not take any classes with prof. I am A student with GPA is 3.95. Almost everyone in the class was not happy with thfinal exam. shame on this prof.

It started out good but then he was behind and rushed through half the course. With poor explanations and weird and picky wording on the tests, he made the class harder than it had to be. Hes a nice guy and makes class entertaining but definitely needs to work on explaining the concepts better.

He had amazing lectures but when it came to wording his test questions and grading, he was too wordy and confusing. The course requires thorough understanding of Ecology but he needs you to mention specific keywords in the answers in order to get a mark, so beware. Overall, pretty entertaining class but you have to think like the professor.

Cole does give good lectures, however, his grading style is very harsh and he is very opaque when it comes to questions regarding grades. I would not recommend him on this fact alone. In response to many emails sent by my classmates, he seems to be reevaluating his syllabus and assessment strategies, so perhaps that will improve.

Cole isnt a bad prof. But certainly not good. He provides superficial information and goes off topic in lecture often. The most frustrating experience I had with him was that his testing method does not reflect how he teaches whatsoever. He is ignorant to feedback and words questions as if he is trying to make questions harder than needed.

Cole is an awesome prof. This course was fun and the lectures were really interesting. Nothing too difficult, he has fill in the blank notes to take from his slides and you should jot down extra things he says. Exams are super fair, you just need to memorize the notes and have a decent understanding. He's always willing to meet outside of class too

Made lectures really interesting with jokes and examples, attendance is recommended b/c he tends to explains things a lot better in person then in the notes he provides for students. Only thing about this class and prof is the quizzes and questions on midterms were usually hard with confusing wording on easy material, class harder then it should be

Cole was awesome! He embedded joke answers in exams and quizzes, sometimes to the extent of a free mark, which really lightened the experience. He did a great job with the remote-learning format, and made attending lectures enjoyable. If you study the notes he provides you'll have no issues in this class!
