Great guy as well as a great prof. He really makes you work in this class. Papers and quizzes are easy, but the midterms are very hard. Do the practice tests in advance then go to office hours. Highly recommend this prof.

He seems like a nice man but his lectures were just so boring. He is also absolutely awful at answering questions. Quizzes and Papers were easy but Tests are NOT.

The sweetest man! But, he made me want to die in class! so boring, and confusing at times. But gives very clear notes for understanding. Not the most helpful outside of class, but a funny and kind prof. He knows his stuff but has difficulty explaining in simpler terms, took him for intro Econ and if you've never taken it before, GOOD LUCK!

The professor is nice, but the texts are tough and he did not give us curve, the average is like 60 around. Also, his lectures are hard to follow because of his handwriting are so small and keep asking the group exercise is not helpful. He will retire soon.

Prof. Gottschang is a great professor. His lectures are clear, and his grading is very fair. There are short quizzes every Friday on 1-2 chapters, but you get 1 cheat sheet per chapter. In addition, his papers are very straightforward and he is always accessible through office hours or email to help. The midterms are more difficult, but not bad.

One of the few Economics professors that OFTEN has group work. I liked this aspect of the class, because he would make us talk and figure out the answers amongst ourselves instead of just writing down lecture notes on the chalkboard. A very polite man and very helpful in office hours.

Gottschang was the best economics teacher I've had. He has weekly quizzes on the reading which are straightforward. 2 Essays that if you have him proof-read you'll get at least an A-. 2 Midterms that are much harder than the quizzes and 1 final that combines the two. He is very clear and gives great class notes.

I had Prof. Gottschang for Disaster Economics as my Montserrat. The class was not what I excepted. We literally are learning econ and only write papers on disasters. If you don't like/want to learn econ, don't have this as a Montserrat option!

His comp. systems class is an awesome class. Great guy. Very smart and Very nice. Tests are tough! DO BULLET OUTLINES FOR THE ESSAY! This way, if you dont have time to finish, he will give you credit for the bullet points. have him edit your papers to get a good grade. I recommend any class with him.

I love TG! I just completed my second semester of his principles classes and after all the stress i put myself thru...it was so worth it! He is just so straight forward...so predictable and never tries to surprise you. His exams are KILLER! The final is on 17 chapters and the midterms are really hard too! Weekly quizes and 3 papers- do well on the

A good professor who engages the class, but very difficult finals. Gave 2 midterms and a final. The class average for the midterms was a 67 and a 49. Quizs every friday and 3 papers, plus a monster final. Still, if you know your stuff, he is a good teacher. Make sure you have him edit your papers and take them to writers workshop to get an A.

Professor Gottschang Rocks! You'll never find a professor who is more straightforward with their teaching methods. He makes sure you're taking in the material and makes learning economics, which let's face it can be mind numbing, quite fun!

Gottschang is an alright guy. There are short informal papers due every wk, midterm, final, and 2 papers during the semester. To get a good grade you must have him look over papers ahead of time. You can rewrite papers. On weekly writing assignments you need to babble (AKA just write a lot of stuff
