Prepare for a lecture. Used to frustrate me that he was so specific about the words of the definitions, but I figured out why. Once you learn the meaning of the words you realize that the definitions are precise, almost like math, and can be said in different ways, but is extremely difficult to do so. Either copy verbatim or really learn the stuff.

Great guy, I loved having class with him. As long as you pay attention and listen to what will be on the quiz/tests you will be fine. I thoroughly enjoyed this class. There is a good amount of homework but never took more more than an hour to complete... was just like all my other classes. I recommend this class with him!

He may be VERY SPECIFIC to what he excepts as vaild answers to the quizzes; however, he DOES tell you exactly which exercises will appear on the quizzes. As long as you take good notes and study EXACTLY what he says, you'll be golden. He also tells you which exercises from the quizzes will appear on the midterm/ final. You will never be surprised.

Dr. Edelmen is definitely a genius in philosophy. However, he was frustrating. All the answers for the homework and quizzes had to be exact (word for word). The textbook was expensive and written by him. He often disagreed with his own textbook.

Dont take this class. Dont take any of his classes. They have nothing to do with what the course is supposed to be about. He rambles, talks about the same things, and basically teaches an English class rather than philosophy.

His lectures do get a little dry, but he gives a lot of quizzes and drops your 4 worst grades. Also gives a half sheet with everything that's going to be on the final and midterm which makes studying a lot easier. I would definitely recommend not taking this class at 8am, but other than that, if you put in the work it's an easy A

Absolutely horrendous! Dont take your philosophy PEQ with this horrifically bad teacher. He lectures all class and give you quizzes every other class. He thinks hes soooooo nice but, in reality he gets mad at you for asking questions. Its your fault if you dont understand him. He gives no examples in class. Switch your professor immediately!

Edelman only teaches out of his own textbook and makes students directly quote his answers, instead of putting things into their own words. Lectures are very long and very boring. He assigns a lot of reading and does not explain the readings very well.

Philosophy is a tough class, to begin with. He is a nice person but his lectures are super long and boring. There will be a quiz almost every class (but it is beneficial because it gets you to study and prepare for the midterm and final). The only way you'll pass is by attending and reading the book. and studying studying studying. Good luck!

Never take this class, worst professor I've ever had. He only teaches from his OWN book, and has a quiz or two every week. Do not recommend. Any other professor would be better.

He stands up at the front of the class and talks for a very long time. Homework almost every night. Quizzes almost every class.

Cool guy but has a backwards way of teaching. He assigns homework where you read a confusing chapter then goes over the chapter after you hand in the homework. Would be more beneficial if he went over the chapter first then assigns to read, do the homework after

Edelman was the worst professor i have ever had. All he does is lecture and you only take quizzes, no projects, no tests, nothing. Then, when its time for the midterm and final you are screwed! He is extremely unclear and confusing, and i would not recommend this class to anyone! Do not take this class!

Love Edelman! He is easy to listen to and to look at. If you do the work, you'll start to understand it though it is a little nerve-wracking at times. I could listen to him lecture and look at him all day.

Very interested by the subject matter. Pretty easy throughout the first half of the semester, but must do the hw or you could get called out during class. The second half was more confusing, but if you stick with the hw, you should be fine. And he is always willing and ready to help.

Overall, he is a really good professor. He wrote the textbook he uses in class, so as long as you understand it you will do fine. He is little strange and some of the material is confusing, but he goes over everything in class. There were weekly quizzes, a midterm, and a final; the homework was out of the text and there were no projects.
