Currently taking this professor for my last class before graduating and she has made it so hard and difficult for everyone. She makes rude comments to students and I never experienced this at SJSU until now. If you have the opportunity to take Bus 189 at SJSU with another professor then please do so. SHE IS VERY RUDE!!!!!

Very strict grader when it comes to group project. She expects you to have lecture already areas before class. I would show up to every class since she does go over the example for the quiz you will have the next class. Honestly, I would just take another professor because she isn't the best and if you don't show up to class then you will struggle.

Little work to do but grades very hard If you mess up one part of your final paper (1 page for me, around 6 with group members), whether it be a misplaced hyphen or etc, she will mark you down 1 point out of ten

The group project (a major assignment) could either go great or be disastrous since you stick with the group you pick at the start of the semester. A majority of the assignments and quizzes are easy. The midterm has the same questions as those quizzes. Her grading is a bit obnoxious as she takes a point off careless punctuation errors.

I struggled at the start but regained myself once I understood her pace. 10 point quizzes which are from practice done in class. HW graded on completion, not correctness. Midterm/final are straightforward. She can be confusing, but her slides are clear & all formulas are on there. Group project through all semester; good group passing grade

Not the worst but not the best. She's willing to help but mistakes does happen often when giving lecture or reviewing answers so it's confusing. 2 assignments and 1 quiz each chapter. 1 HUGE group project lasting through whole semester. Late work allowed within week. No lockdown browser. No webcam but be in class with camera on during testing.

Lectures are boring - she has a very monotone voice. Is unclear with assignments/projects and then yells over students when questions are asked. Overall, not understanding and rude to students.

The worst professor I have taken at SJSU. She doesn't have empathy for students. no clear instructions on assignments (doesn't fix it either). She is really RUDE and PETTy In terms of work, she makes you do weekly discussions and a chapter report with textbook questions. Humiliates you in the final group project, also doesn't care about covid

She makes a lot of mistakes and has to go back and correct herself. Mundane voice and boring slides. Class is not hard if you try. The final report is dumb, lost two letter grades bc I did not cite correctly instead of the content. I cited ex: (Hall M, 2020) she wanted (Hall, 2020), had like 15 citations, lost 15 points.

Chapter Discussion and Problem Solving aren't that difficult but some of the detailed lectures were hard to understand. One group project presenting a chapter of the textbook. Professor wasn't using the lockdown browser which was nice but made submitting quizzes and exams stressful.

I started out this class with a severe dislike for Professor Tan after a poor grading choice on her part. However, she is extremely nice, patient, and caring if you ask for help. The quizzes are all from classwork and her midterms are straightforward. Make sure you have sa olid group to work on the project with. I would take her class again.

Professor Tan is an alright professor. In zoom lectures, she'll ask everyone to turn on the webcam and she'll randomly call on one of you guys to read/answer a question in the lecture. She is a bit picky when it comes to grading but she allows resubmissions. One in total group project (it was annoying IMO), and hw/quiz/test was easy.

Most of her quiz are based on practice problems. Group project is tedious, but she shows you how to do the spreadsheet calculation. You get homework for every chapter. Midterms & Finals: multiple choices are lockdown w/ no webcam. Problem solving tests are done in-class w/ webcam on. Not a hard class to pass, but alot of work.

Her class wasn't that bad but her lectures do get kind of boring and confusing. She also makes you have you camera AND mic on sometimes which can be annoying. Her quizzes are not that bad as long as you do the homework, group work is kind of hard because she grades on specific things. Not that bad but not an easy A

This class was very easy. Weekly homework questions and quizzes, but the quizzes are very easy because she gives you the answers. There are three group papers and a group presentation but no final. The papers were kind of tedious but she does peer reviews in case somebody didn't do their share of the work.

She doesn't explain what she whats clearly, and deducts points if you don't do what she wants. She also gets in a bad mood easily, and is very sarcastic once she is. She made a very easy concept turn hard for no reason.

Homework was easy and all the quizzes (happen at end of class) answers are just in the practice quizzes. SUPER boring and monotone lectures. Had group projects where she graded us harshly when she was vague in the information she gave us though (had to make a prototype). Easy to get an A, but this class is useless n the prof grades unfavorably
