Comment:
He is a kind man, but not a good professor (at least for online). Quizzes take forever, and there are a lot of them. He won't post the notes until a week before the exam. He probably won't answer any of your emails, at least not for weeks. Exams are often not worded well and the keys might be wrong. This class was much harder than needed to be.

Professor Dyer is not fit for online teaching. The only thing he was consistent with was posting quizzes late. He told us at the beginning of class that the exam would be open book but then required a lockdown browser. When asked what to do, he said, "I don't know, print it out?"

This is what you expect from a professor teaching an introduction class. Professional, requires some brain power, really interesting, though not presented in the best manor. And if you go meet him in his office, he's nice, and helpful. The exams are only slightly challenging. Explains it so even someone with no experiences can understand.

Professor Dyer is smart, don't get me wrong. He clearly understands what he's talking about, but he is awful at teaching it effectively. Once class starts, he begins talking right away and doesn't stop for an hour an a half. He goes through slides super fast so it's hard to take notes sometimes. Tests are brutal and not like the notes.

Smart, funny, knows how to hold your attention in a course that can sometimes be monotonous. Seems to actually care about how his students perform. Would highly recommend.

Dr Dyer does not seem like he wants to be teaching this class and only uses PowerPoint presentations. It is very hard to take notes because he quickly moves between slides. The slides are posted 2 days before the exam. All the test questions are specific details from the book that he may or may not have covered in class. Overall a bad professor.

Props to F.C. Dyer! One and a half hour lectures are a bit long but this prof. knows his stuff and shares interesting experiments from around the globe. Probably my best Biology course of all time-- Two thumbs up for Applied Org. and Env. Bio!! Attend everyday and take some notes and a 4.0 is yours!!

Good, but boring... my advice, take your OWN notes, then study off his. otherwise you have no chance of actually retaining any info. Tests are hard... mostly essays.

Props to Princeton - this prof is smart and he knows it. He's pretty damn arrogant. Often pontificates in monotone -- you can tell when he's not talking to you anymore. Nice smile but a heartbreaker.
